Mick Foley, Steve Austin, The Rock Reflect On The Night Foley Won The WWE Title

On January 4, 1999, Mick Foley, with the help of Steve Austin, pinned The Rock to win his first WWE Title. The night was not only memorable due to what happened on Raw, but for what happened on WCW Nitro as well.

Raw was a taped show while Nitro was live and promoting a major main event featuring Kevin Nash vs. Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Title. During the Nitro broadcast, WCW announcer Tony Schiavone revealed that Foley would be winning the WWE Title before commenting, "that's gonna put some butts in the seat."

On the 20th Anniversary of the moment, WWE posted a video of Foley revisiting the Worcester Centrum Centre. You can view the video above. Steve Austin and The Rock commented on the moment.

Austin previously discussed the pop he received on that night. You can read his comments here.
