The Crockett Cup Tournament has come to a close.
On Sunday, June 4, NWA held Night Two of the Crockett Cup. The 24-team bracket was whittled down until only the teams of Mike Knox & Trevor Murdoch and Blunt Force Trauma (Carnage & Damage) remained. The main event would see Aron Stevens try and steal the match for BFT, but Murdoch and Knox would overcome the interference and pick up the victory.
Murdoch and Knox's path to the finals saw them go through Magnum Muscle (Dak Draper & Mims), The Mortons (Ricky Morton & Kerry Morton), and The Midnight Riders (Tyrus & Chris Adonis). With their win, they become the sixth team to win the prestigious trophy, joining the likes of The Road Warriors, The Super Powers (Nikita Koloff and Dusty Rhodes), and Sting & Lex Luger.
The event originally ran from 1986-1998, but was revived in 2019. It did not take place during the height of the pandemic (2020/2021), but returned in 2022 with The Briscoes winning it all.
