Mistico suffered his first loss in MLW at MLW SuperFight 6, getting pinned by Templario in a tag team bout.
After the match, Cesar Duran and Templario issued a challenge to Mistico, wanting a match for the MLW World Middleweight Title.
Mistico agreed to the match and was willing to put the title on the line right now. Duran declined, saying the match would take place at MLW Battle Riot VII.
