One of the highlights of Mixed Match Challenge was undoubtedly the pairing of Miz and Asuka.
The annoyance of Miz played perfectly against the serious but goofiness of Asuka. The two won season one of Mixed Match Challenge and lost to the eventual winners, R-Truth & Carmella, in the semifinals of season two.
Speaking on New Day: Feel The Power, Miz discussed his partnership with Asuka.
"It was a random pairing, I don't think I even talked to Asuka before we started working together on Mixed Match Challenge and all of a sudden they were like, 'You're with Asuka.' We start talking, she didn't understand what I was saying, I didn't understand what she was saying, but someway, somehow, we just clicked. Speaking wrestling is a completely different language than English and Japanese. When we came together, we would speak wrestling and understand each other. She is so good at going off of something, she can feel an emotion and be able to relay that. I had a blast working with Asuka," he said.
Miz and Asuka haven't had much interaction on-screen since their time together on Mixed Match Challenge.
Season two of MMC wrapped up in December 2018 and it is unknown if the series will return.
