MJF comments on not main-eventing AEW Double or Nothing.
At AEW Double or Nothing, MJF defended the AEW World Championship against Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry. The title match did not main-event the show; instead, The Elite (Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, and the Young Bucks) battling Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta) went on last.
At the AEW Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, MJF was asked whether he had a problem with not main-eventing the pay-per-view. He responded by making it clear that he didn't feel like rolling around in Jon Moxley's blood.
"No, why the fuck would I want to roll around in Jon Moxley’s blood? I’m fucking good. No thanks. Also, realistically, whether it’s this company or WWE, the World Title, ‘having to go on last,’ kind of is dead in wrestling. How times has the World Title not gone on last in this company?" MJF said.
AEW CEO Tony Khan then named Double or Nothing 2021 as an example of a show where the world title match didn't headline the card. MJF continued by stating that he didn't want to run around in so much blood, and he pointed to Wheeler Yuta as an example.
"I’d rather not run around in all that mid-blood. It’s fucking disgusting. Wheeler Yuta was in that match, you think I want roll around in Wheeler Yuta blood?" MJF said.
When Khan pointed out that Yuta didn't bleed, MJF responded, "Did he not bleed? Wow. Congrats"
During the scrum, MJF also commented on establishing himself as one of the greatest of all time and noted that he could potentially take his ball and go home at some point. Click here to see what he had to say.
