Maxwell Jacob Friedman defeated Hechicero in the opening match of the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
MJF returned home on Long Island and returned home to the action of an AEW pay-per-view with his victory over Hechicero in the first match on the third-ever AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
The CMLL luchador gave the former AEW World Champion all he could handle but in the end, it was Max, adorned in the colors of the New York Mets and the New York Knicks, who scored a victory with a Brainbuster.
Long Island’s own @The_MJF makes his way to the ring to kick off the show!

This was MJF's first pay-per-view match since losing the world championship to Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End in December 2023.
With Max back to his winning ways, he has his sights set on Wembley Stadium and AEW All In. He most recently offered a match at the prestigious event to Daniel Garcia but told Garcia to worry about his International Championship opportunity against Will Ospreay at AEW Dynamite: Beach break first and foremost. Fans can learn more about that here.
