Alec Price Talks Allie Katch's Injury, 'I Hope To See Her In The Ring One Day'

Alec Price recalls Allie Katch's injury.

The People vs. GCW kicked off with a hell of a match, as Matt Tremont, Rina Yamashita, Matthew Justice, Ciclope, Brandon Kirk, Maki Itoh, Dr. Redacted, Drew Parker, and John Wayne Murdoch competed in a DLC match for both the GCW Extreme Championship and the GCW Ultraviolent Championship.

The Rock Says Cody Rhodes Story Doesn't Need To Culminate In A Match

The second match on the show didn't go as planned, as Allie Katch suffered a leg injury during her match with Effy. With Katch unable to continue, Effy was declared the "winner", advancing him to face Mance Warner for the GCW World Championship in the closing bout of the show.

While chatting with Fightful for a new interview, Alec Price first praised Katch, saying that he hopes she has a speedy recovery.

"It’s kind of chaos because we can’t do anything until the ambulance is there. Brett is trying to figure out how to keep the show together without it getting stopped because that was a possibility. If the commission wanted to stop the show, at any time, they could’ve stopped the show. They could’ve stopped the show for that injury. They were choosing not to just off the blessing on how many people were actually at Hammerstein. It’s really sad to see Allie get hurt in a spot like that. Allie has been in a better mood and gaining more respect with wrestling and the way she wrestles. She’s was doing stuff to progress. It’s something that comes with the business, but it’s something that is not easy. I hope she gets better and for a speedy recovery. I hope to see her in the ring one day."

Price then talked about some of the backstage chaos and how he and Cole Radrick were ready to have the best match, even if it was on short notice.

"It’s chaos. Brett is freaking out, we don’t know what’s going on, they’ve already sent out the other wrestlers. Now, he’s trying to figure out how to keep them out there. Kerry Morton with the promo, using the mouth God gave him and he was blessed from his daddy. He did a good job and they were able to have that match. Brett is coming to us. We were a match after. Where we were at, we were the next match after that. He went up to Cole and is like, ‘I’m sending you now. Is that cool?’ Me and Cole were like, ‘We’re ready for this shit. Let’s go, Bustah.’ Shit happens and you have to be ready and professional. Brett is a good boss and he takes care of us. Why would I not be ready to produce the best work I possibly can, even if it’s on short notice. It’s not his fault that shit is going on. We went, ‘Alright, let’s go. Hit the music.’ Brett put us out and we had a banger. The crowd was dead, but stuff happens with the injury. The momentum of the show is going up and you have a straight halt of everything. Obviously, it went down, but in the end, they saw us win the tag belts and that’s all that matters."

Elsewhere in the interview, Price praised Effy's championship win, calling him a trailblazer and innovator. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
