New Champions Crowned At Wrestle Kingdom 12

Five championships changed hands this morning at Wrestle Kingdom 12.

Matt and Nick Jackson started the show off by winning the IWGP Jr. tag team titles, defeating Roppongi 3K. Sho and Yoh held the titles for 87 days, winning the titles in their debut as a team back at Power Struggle. The latest title win makes it a record seven times for The Young Bucks. They don't hold the record for the most individual runs as champion, however, as Roppongi 3K coach Rocky Romero currently holds the record with eight reigns.

The NEVER Six Man tag team titles also changed hands, as the trio of Toru Yano, Tomohiro Ishii and Baretta bested Tama Tonga, Tanga Roa and Back Luck Fale to win the gold. Bullet Club only held the titles for 17 days, winning them last month on December 17.

Next up were the IWGP Tag Team titles. EVIL and SANADA, winners of last month's World Tag League, defeated Killer Elite Squad to win the titles for the first time. KES won the titles back on September 24 at Destruction in Kobe, holding them for 102 days.

Hirooki Goto also walked away with gold, defeating Minoru Suzuki for the NEVER Openweight title, meaning that Minoru Suzuki had to shave himself bald as a result. Suzuki-gun tried to take him away, but Suzuki refused. Knowing that he lost, he owned up to it, grabbed a chair, re-entered the ring and cut off his signature hair. He had held the title for 252 days, defeating Goto at Road to Wrestling Dontaku.

Will Ospreay also emerged victorious, winning the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title for the second time in an amazing match. He finally beat Marty Scurll with the Oz cutter to gain the title. The story had been that Ospreay has never been able to beat Scurll, but finally made it happen this morning. Scurll only held the title for 60 days, defeating Ospreay at Power Struggle back in November.
