The first title change at WWE Royal Rumble has occurred.
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows defeated Cesaro and Sheamus. The two teams met during the kick-off show of the pay-per-view, and since their feud has included several matches with controversial matches, the match tonight featured two referees in order to prevent any controversy. However, one of the referees was knocked out when he received an inadvertent Brogue Kick from Sheamus, and Anderson ended up getting the pinfall on Cesaro while holding his tights. Cesaro and Sheamus held the titles for forty-one days after beating The New Day to stop their record reign.
