New Raw Tag Team Champions Crowned At Extreme Rules

The Hardy Boyz saw their nostalgic reign as Raw Tag Team Championship end two months after it started.

At Sunday's WWE Extreme Rules PPV, the duo were defeated by International Superstars Cesaro and Sheamus within the confines of a steel cage. The Hardys had been champions since their surprise return at WrestleMania 33.

Chris Jericho: People That Hate Are Going To Hate, I Know If What I'm Doing Is Good Or Bad

After Jeff Hardy left the cage first, Matt had to battle both opponents by his lonesome. Despite Jeff returning to the cage to hit a Whisper in the Wind off the top, the move also incapacitated Jeff, and Matt was unable to get out of the cage before Sheamus and Cesaro.

You can see an excerpt from our live coverage below.

Sheamus hits a white noise from the top rope to Matt before Jeff gets on the top of the cage and hits a Whisper in the Wind that takes out both Sheamus and Cesaro. Sheamus and Cesaro end up getting out of the cage and touching the floor before Matt can get out and drag Jeff out of it for the win.

Winner: Cesaro and Sheamus

Sheamus and Cesaro are in their second reigns as WWE Raw Tag Team Champions since being paired together by Mick Foley last year.
