A huge weekend for mixed martial arts and pro wrestling kicked off with a history making moment: Adam Cole is the new ROH World Champion.
Emerging victorious at Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor, Cole began his second reign as world champion. The Bullet Club member defeated Jay Lethal in the main event via pinfall to become champion.
The 27-year old Cole hasn't held the title in over two years, since losing the championship at Best in the World 2014.
Cole ends Jay Lethal's legendary reign, which lasted 428 days. This was fourth longest in Ring of Honor history, but if you include Lethals time with the ROH World TV title that led into his World Championship reign, he owns the distinction of being a champion for the most consecutive days in ROH history.
