The first big title change in the fourth season of Lucha Underground has occurred and the Reptile Tribe are back on top.
With the sudden departures of Vibora and Drago, the Reptile Tribe, whose only members are now Kobra Moon, Daga and Jeremiah Snake, are the new Lucha Underground Trios champions. The Reptile Tribe defeated Killshot, The Mack and Son of Havoc to start the stable's second reign as champions.
Below is an excerpt of the title match from Fightful's coverage of the August 15 episode of Lucha Underground:
Snake hits a big boot to Havoc, followed by Killshot to Snake, then Daga to Killshot. Mack hits a stunner to Moon and tries to do the same to Snake. Snake counters the stunner but Mack Samoan Drops Snake and then Mack hits a standing moonsault. Mack goes to the top rope but gets kicked by Snake. Snake then goes for a Stretch Muffler to Mack, but Havoc was able to save the match with a springboard double stomp to Snake. Havoc goes to the top rope for a shooting star press, but Killshot appears and pushes Havoc to the ring by surprise. This gives Snake a chance to pick up the surprise win.
Official result: The Reptile Tribe (Daga, Jeremiah Snake and Kobra Moon) defeated The Mack, Son of Havoc and Killshot to win the Lucha Underground Trios Championship
Although this is the second time the Reptile Tribe has held the Trios Championship, it is the first time all three current members have actually held the title as the first time the stable held the titles, it was Vibora, Drago and Pindar who held the titles.
The match also concludes the longest Trios Championship reign for Killshot and Mack. Both men, with Dante Fox, won the titles from the Reptile Tribe at last season's Ultima Lucha Tres. But when the season four premiere of Lucha Underground aired, Fox was nowhere to be found and thus was replaced by Havoc as the third member of the Trios Champions, netting Havoc his third Lucha Underground Trios Championship.
