NXT Women's Tag Title Match, JD McDonagh vs. Dragon Lee Set For 5/2 WWE NXT

Kayden Carter and Katana Chance do not want to see the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship go to WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

In the final round of the first half of the televised portion of the 2023 WWE Draft, Shawn Michaels announced that WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre would be going to WWE SmackDown.

An emotional moment for the Scottish duo, Fyre & Dawn would be interrupted by Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. The former WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Champions made it clear immediately that they had no intention of seeing the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship belts pop up on Friday nights and would challenge Fyre & Dawn to a match for the titles on the May 2 episode of WWE NXT.

WWE has made the match official, adding a second championship match to the already stacked card for May 2.

It was also announced that JD McDonagh, who was drafted to WWE Monday Night Raw as part of the first round of supplemental draft picks, will take on Dragon Lee after Lee answered JD's social media open challenge to the WWE NXT roster.

This is being advertised as McDonagh's last NXT match. All of these draft picks will go into effect on Monday, May 8, the WWE Raw following WWE Backlash in Puerto Rico.

The announced card for the May 2 episode of WWE NXT is below.
