Nic Nemeth: There's A List Of Japanese Legends I Want To Face, But I Would Love To Wrestle Bryan Danielson

Nic Nemeth wants to face Bryan Danielson now that they're both out of WWE.

Nemeth and Danielson faced off several times in WWE. Danielson left the company in 2021 and signed with AEW. WWE released Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler, in September 2023. Nemeth has landed in TNA and NJPW, and he has already captured the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship.

Speaking with Jamal Niaz for Monopoly Events, Nic Nemeth was asked to name some opponents he wanted to share the ring with. Niaz noted that he wanted to see Nemeth face Daniel Bryan, now known as Bryan Danielson, again.

“The weird thing is, I’d like to back in there with Daniel Bryan too, without WWE saying he has to win and protecting him. I want to go one-on-one with a guy that everybody treats as one of the best of all time and in the world. I go, ‘You’re not better than me, not by a long shot.’ So I want to fight him one-on-one, where everybody watches and goes, ‘Oh, right, I guess Nic’s pretty good too.’ No, I’m freaking great at this. I would absolutely love that. I have a long list of some Japanese legends that I want to get into because I want to test myself. But man, when I come out on the other side of that, I’m looking for Daniel Bryan. I’m gonna headbutt him right in the head, knock him down, choke him out, tap him out, you name it. I can’t wait," Nemeth said.

Nemeth also made it clear that he wants to face Hiroshi Tanahashi. They were set to face each other at NJPW Sakura Genesis, but Tanahashi was pulled from the bout due to injury.

During the interview, Nemeth also commented on potentially facing Will Ospreay. Click here to see what he had to say.

Nemeth is set to face Steve Maclin at TNA Sacrifice. More information is available here.
