Three bouts added to NJPW Windy City Riot.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Nic Nemeth will take on Tomohiro Ishii at NJPW Windy City Riot on April 12.
Plus, Jack Perry faces Shota Umino.
Furthermore, El Phantasmo & Hikuleo will defend the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions in a four-way open challenge.
Shota Umino will go one on one with Jack Perry in a special singles matchup. After an attack from the Scapegoat at Battle in the Valley and then a video message delivered at New Beginning in Sapporo, Perry and Umino went head to head for the first time at March 6’s Anniversary Event, where HOUSE OF TORTURE intervened and accepted the Scapegoat into their dark fold. Ever since, Umino has been campaigning for a rematch against the man that has plagued him at every vulnerable moment.
Two young hopefuls with a lot of pressure and expectation put upon them early in their careers, Umino and Perry share similar backgrounds, but have reacted to the bright light pressure in wildly different ways. Will Umino’s sense of justice prevail, or will it be Perry, likely the most hated man in Chicago April 12, that will come away victorious?

IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Nic Nemeth returns to the cerulean blue to go up against Tomohiro Ishii. After defeating David Finlay at new Beginning in Sapporo to become the second IWGP Global Champion, Nemeth issued a challenge to Hiroshi Tanahashi for a dream match at Sakura Genesis. The Ace would sustain an ankle injury however, delaying, but not denying the title bout. As Nemeth waits to accept Tanahashi’s challenge, he has instead requested a different opponent in a non title match; indeed a tag team partner of Tanahashi’s. This is no mere tune up for Nemeth; how will he fare in a wildly different bout to the one he faced against Finlay in February?

Also in Chicago, the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships will be on the line in a four way Open Challenge Match. While El Phantasmo and Hikuleo’s singles journeys through the New Japan Cup didn’t go as planned, they both still showed their abilities as individuals that make them hard to beat as a duo. Seeking to prove that they are the best team in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Guerrillas of Destiny have laid down an open challenge, not to one, and not two, but three teams in Chicago at Windy City Riot. Who will step up?
