Nick Gage was the subject of the May 13 episode of Dark Side of the Ring as the episode looked at the life and career of the deathmatch legend.
The episode touched on the dark times of Gage, including his stint in jail for robbing a bank. The episode also featured comments form his longtime girlfriend Sondra, who has been with him through all of the deathmatches and bank robbery.
Speaking to Ron Funches on Gettin' Better, Gage revealed that he didn't want Sondra in the episode and fought with producers at first.
"I was really nervous about putting her on. I said no at first because I don't like putting Sondra on camera, but she always shows up and supports me and shit like that. Ride or die chick. I can't believe I put the story out there like that because I didn't want people to know she fucking rolled, but who cares, I told the truth. I had to. That's one thing I wanted from the doc, I wanted to be truthful. They did a good job explaining shit truthfully. That's what was dope about it. [Sondra] is a real one. I can't believe I put her in the series. I didn't want to put her in it at all. I fought with them people, but I'm glad I did. She did a good job. I was proud of her," said Gage.
Funches praised Sondra for being "ride or die" and sticking with Gage through everything as well.
Elsewhere in the podcast, Gage discussed potential matches against Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
