Nick Khan wants to get fans excited.
Every year in major sports like the NBA and NFL there is a schedule released day where teams put out their season schedule. Schedule release day has become somewhat of a spectacle on social media with teams coming up with creative ways to inform their fans of who they'll be playing and when.
Along with schedule release days, major sports have events such as the draft or the trade deadline, which own the day and include wall-to-wall coverage on networks.
Appearing on the Bill Simmons Podcast, Nick Khan was asked if WWE and UFC (TKO) could have something similar to a schedule release day to inform fans of when WWE or UFC could be coming to their town.
"The NFL Draft. The first in Philly, where they took it out of New York and hundreds of thousands of people are there. What is there like that for UFC and WWE that could work? That’s something we’re hyper-focused on," said Khan.
Elsewhere during the interview, Khan discussed the possibility of having an all-star TKO weekend with WWE SmackDown on Friday, a UFC pay-per-view on Saturday, and a WWE premium live event on Sunday. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
While making the media after the merger became official, Khan noted how UFC fighters could extend their entertainment life after their Octagon career is over. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
