Nikki Cross Says Match Against Bayley At WWE Extreme Rules Is A Chance To Show How Much She's Grown

Nikki Cross is looking forward to what she can do against Bayley ahead of their SmackDown Women's Tag Team Championship at Extreme Rules.

Cross, who has mainly been competing for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship with Alexa Bliss for some time, could potentially win her first singles title in WWE. In an interview with SportsNet, Cross says she's excited to showcase her growth as a wrestler and give viewers an opportunity to see her in a new light as an in-ring competitor.

"It's such a big opportunity for me. I love being in the tag team division and competing for those tag team championships with Alexa, but the challenge is in making that transition into a singles championship match against Bayley, one of the most celebrated women's champions. For me, it's a chance to show how much I've grown as a performer over the last year-and-a-half. So I'm excited for people to see aspects of my in-ring game that they might not have necessarily seen, maybe moves that I haven't done before. I'm excited for people to see and it's such an opportunity and I don't want to let the WWE Universe down, don't want to let my fans down, don't want to let Alexa down. I owe it to myself to have the best performance and walk away with my first-ever singles championship," Cross said.

Bayley and Cross will compete at Extreme Rules, taking place on July 19. Fightful will have live coverage of Extreme Rules.
