NXT is ready to give 2020 the boot and who can blame them?
During WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2020, NXT announced that the first episode of NXT for 2021 will be a special event titled “New Year’s Evil.” New Year's Evil will take place on Wednesday, January 6, just one day after New Japan Pro-Wrestling presents its two-night Wrestle Kingdom 15 spectacular.
The previous special from NXT was called Halloween Havoc, and the one before that was called Super Tuesday, and prior to that, it was the Great American Bash. This will be the first special event from NXT that does not use a name that was previously used by WWE or WCW.
Of course, NXT's competitor on Wednesday nights, All Elite Wrestling, just held a special event entitled “Winter Is Coming.” Tony Khan previously announced that they will also have a special episode of Dynamite in January called “Beach Break.” No date has been announced for that event.
May your New Year's be.... --------.
