Nyla Rose misses seeing Cody and Brandi Rhodes backstage at AEW shows.
On February 15, 2022, AEW announced that Cody and Brandi Rhodes would be moving on from the company. Both had been part of AEW since its inception, with Cody serving as one of the four Executive Vice Presidents and Brandi acting as the Chief Brand Officer along with their on-screen roles as talent.
Cody made his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 as Seth Rollins' surprise opponent. He has since competed on Raw against The Miz and will face Rollins once again at WrestleMania Backlash on May 8.
During a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, former AEW Women's Champion Nyla Rose spoke about Cody and Brandi's departure and the likelihood of one day seeing them return to the promotion they helped launch.
"If pro wrestling, I’m not even gonna say AEW, if pro wrestling is any indication, I can't speculate. Anything's possible, we've seen things this past year that have just come out of complete left field. Selfishly, I would love to see that. You know, I miss my friends. I miss seeing people that I like backstage. Cody and Brandi have been absolutely wonderful to me, I would love to see them more. But if they're happy, I'm happy. Like I always say, if you like it, I love it," Nyla said.
Elsewhere during the interview, Nyla said that Vickie Guerrero is the MVP of the AEW Women's locker room. Click here to learn more.
Nyla Rose, with Vickie Guerrero in her corner, will challenge for the AEW Women's World Championship against Thunder Rosa at Battle of the Belts II on Saturday, April 16, 2022. If she wins, she will become the first-ever two-time AEW Women's World Champion.
