Osamu Nishimura has passed away at the age of 53.
Nishimura was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his retroperitoneal space in 1998. He was declared cancer free in 2000. In March 2024, Nishimura was diagnosed with stage-four esophageal cancer.

Nishimura is a former IWGP Tag Team Champion and G1 Tag League Winner. He made his in-ring debut in April 1991 and wrestled his last match in December 2024, teaming with Katsushi Takemura, & Shinya Aoki against Atsushi Onita, Mammoth Sasaki & Raijin Yaguchi.
In August 2024, he teamed with Dory Funk Jr at the Terry Funk Memorial & Atsushi Onita 50th Anniversary event.
