Paul Heyman understands the story between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes heading into WrestleMania 39.
Cody Rhodes will get his first singles opportunity to challenge for the WWE Championship on pay-per-view as he faces Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 39. Roman and Cody are very proud of their family legacies, and Paul Heyman believes that is what this match comes down to.
Speaking with Variety, Paul Heyman says that both competitors look to define their legacies in their upcoming clash at the Showcase of the Immortals.
“There’s more in common with these two characters than there is distinct,” Heyman says. “In that sense, they’re trying to become the most famous member of their family, and that’s a big, big task to accomplish. They’re both trying to define their own legacies through the main event of WrestleMania.”
Cody Rhodes and Paul Heyman hit their first bump on the Road to WrestleMania 39 during an interaction on the February 6 episode of WWE Raw. Things became very personal very quickly between the two disruptors and set the tone for the April clash between Rhodes and Reigns.
Elsewhere in this interview, Paul Heyman waxed poetic about Roman Reigns' run as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and stated that he believes Reigns deserves an Emmy. Read more here.
