Penta has been using the Mexican Destroyer (Canadia Destroyer) for years during his in-ring career with the move being a staple of his offense.
When he came to WWE, many fans wondered if he would be able to keep hitting the destroyer given WWE's restrictions on certain moves like piledrivers. Penta showed from his very first match against Chad Gable that the destroyer was there to stay.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Penta was asked what makes his destroyer different.
"The passion. The passion in the ring. Now, it’s the Mexican Destroyer. The difference between me and other wrestlers who do the same move is the passion that I do it (with). The energy when I do it. I’m waiting for the best moment in the match to hit the Mexican Destroyer," he said.
Asked if he's talked with WWE producer Petey Williams, who perfected the Canadian Destroyer, Penta replied, "Of course. I know in WWE, some moves are banned, or you can’t do them, but for me, I don’t know exactly the reason but the Mexican Destroyer is part of me."
Penta has victories over Gable, Ludwig Kaiser, and Pete Dunne in his WWE career.
Elsewhere during the interview, Penta commented on his friendship with George Kittle. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
