The plot thickens.
On December 17, Snoop Dogg revealed that his Gold WWE Championship had gone missing, and he needed to get it back in time for WrestleMania 39. Guillermo from the Jimmy Kimmel Show was subsequently spotted with the belt, but it has yet to find its way back to Snoop Dogg.
WWE posted an update on February 5, as the company shared an image of Pete Davidson holding the title at the NFL's Pro Bowl. Davidson, a popular comedian and actor, was a judge for the Best Catch competition.

It's unclear how Davidson got the title, and what he intends to do with it. Davidson has indirectly interacted with the WWE Universe before; he and John Cena were part of the cast of The Suicide Squad. Cena played Peacemaker, and Davidson had a brief cameo as Blackguard.
The Gold Championship wasn't the only way WWE crossed over with the Pro Bowl. WWE broadcaster Pat McAfee was on the call alongside Kirk Herbstreit. McAfee returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble premium life event after a lengthy absence; he stepped away in September when he joined the College GameDay broadcast team.
Fightful will continue to monitor the mystery of the Gold WWE Championship and provide more information as it becomes available.
McAfee recently discussed his return to WWE. Check out his comments here.
