Big changes at AXS following deal with Anthem.
Anthem acquiring a majority stake in AXS TV should mean big things for IMPACT Wrestling and their visibility, but the unfortunate side to the deal is those at AXS who are now without a job. The Wrap reports that at least 40 employees were released following the announcement of the deal. And the cuts reportedly came quick, with employees laid off within hours of Mark Cuban selling his stake.
For wrestling fans, two of the most noted cuts are Adam Swift and Cindy Ronzoni.
Swift worked as legal counsel at AXS and was an executive producer for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Swift was also integral in getting Ring of Honor on AXS (formerly HDNet). AXS reportedly shut down its Dallas office, which handled production for NJPW.
This is my last week at AXS TV after 11 amazing years. Proud of all that we accomplished, blessed to have worked with so many wonderful people, and excited for the next adventure.

Ronzoni was part of the public relations team, helping with any news and marketing regarding Women of Wrestling and more.
Sadly today I was laid off from the AXS TV due to the sale. I had a wonderful six-year run there heading the PR efforts and am excited about new possibilities. If anyone needs a creative and innovative publicist - please let me know. #TCA19

According to Bob Gold from Bob Gold & Associates, a spokesman for new owner Anthem, the terminations at AXS came about because of “redundancies” created by Cuban’s sale to Anthem and Steve Harvey. Gold insists that “almost all senior AXS executives" were retained.
It is unknown when IMPACT will move from Pursuit to AXS. IMPACT will reportedly debut a new to help usher in the new era.
