Dark Side of the Ring is set to cover a lesser-known villain of the squared circle in season three.
Thus far, VICE’s Dark Side of the Ring series has covered some of the sadder stories in pro wrestling including The Von Erich family’s series of tragic deaths, the story of Jimmy Snuka and Nancy Argentino, the death of Owen Hart, and the tragic Benoit family double murder-suicide.
Now, a report from Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer reveals that Bruiser Bedlam will be chronicled in season 3.
Bedlam, aka Johnny K-9, worked some as enhancement talent for the WWF before being briefly pushed in Jim Cornette’s Smoky Mountain Wrestling where he would wrestle Randy Savage in 1994. Bruiser would later encounter legal trouble including being charged with murder in 2005. A judge would later decide in 2006 that the case against him was not strong enough to convict him of murder.
Bedlam passed away in 2017 at the age of 53.
Season 3 of Dark Side of the Ring is also scheduled to feature episodes about Brian Pillman, Nick Gage, WCW’s Collision in Korea event from 1995, and more.
Fightful will report any new details about the series as they're made available.
