Cain Velasquez' next WWE booking is set for the Royal Rumble on Jan. 26 in Houston, Texas.
The news comes courtesy of Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. It is unclear what Velasquez' role at the event will be, just that the event is Cain's next booking.
Velasquez hasn't appeared on WWE television since losing in Brock Lesnar in two minutes and 10 seconds at WWE Crown Jewel on Oct. 31. He made his WWE debut on the Oct. 4 SmackDown on Fox premiere, showing up at the end of the show to confront Lesnar. Cain appeared on television throughout the month to build the program with Lesnar and the Crown Jewel bout marked his in-ring debut with WWE. He previously wrestled two matches with AAA Lucha Libre.
Velasquez did wrestle on the Nov. 30 WWE live event in Mexico City, teaming with Humberto Carrillo to defeat The OC (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson). The former UFC Champion signed a multi-year deal with WWE in October.
WWE has yet to confirm any names or matches for the Royal Rumble event.
