Meltzer reports that Beretta was offered a contract and verbally agreed to a new deal with the company, but ended up backing off. He was reportedly in line for a big push.

Beretta has been with NJPW since 2013 when he debuted in the Best of the Super Junior tournament. Chuckie T joined his partner in 2017 as the two teamed up to compete in World Tag League. They have been a featured team ever since.

They are scheduled to work all three nights of the New Beginning USA tour, which starts tonight, Jan. 30 and concludes on Feb. 2. They are scheduled to main event the final night of the tour, teaming with Rocky Romero to take on Tracy Williams, David Finlay and Juice Robinson. Beretta will challenge Juice for the IWGP US Title on Feb. 1.

The duo is reportedly "close" to signing with All Elite Wrestling.
