The wedding was called off but John Cena and Nikki Bella are still working on their relationship.
About a year after John Cena proposed to Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33, the two wrestlers called off their engagement and reportedly broke up. Over the next month, both Nikki Bella and Cena spoke publicly about what had happened. Now, People Magazine is reporting the two are "basically back together."
According to the sources of People, the two of them called off the wedding because they could not come to terms on having children. The sources also said both people had a "wake-up call" when the wedding was called off. Cena has since said publicly he wants to have a family with Nikki Bella and wants her to be the mother of his children.
It should be noted People has reported some conflicting information about the Nikki Bella and Cena breakup. At one point, their sources said Brie Bella was extremely angry with Cena which she denied. Brie Bella said she was concerned for Cena along with her sister.
On May 22nd, Nikki Bella took to twitter to say the reports about her situation are filled with false sources. She did not name the People magazine report specifically.
