Report: John Morrison Signs Deal With WWE; Morrison Comments

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that John Morrison has signed a deal to return to WWE. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Morrison won season three of Tough Enough in 2002 and spent nine years in WWE before leaving in 2011. Morrison is a former three-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, five-time Tag Team Champion, and ECW Champion. 

Morrison took to Twitter to comment on the report.

After leaving WWE, Morrison went on to have successful runs in Lucha Underground and IMPACT Wrestling. He was a featured player in Lucha Underground, winning the Lucha Underground Championship, the Gift of the Gods Championship, and the Trios Championships to become the second-ever Triple Crown Champion in Lucha Underground history. Morrison wrestled under the name Johnny Mundo in the promotion.

In IMPACT Wrestling, Morrison captured the IMPACT Wrestling World Title at Bound For Glory 2018, holding it until Rebellion 2019. He held the title for 196 days, making him the longest-reigning IMPACT World Champion since Bobby Roode (Robert Roode in WWE) in 2011. Morrison, who wrestled under the name Johnny Impact, finished up with IMPACT following Slammiversary on July 7.

He recently made a cameo on an episode of Being The Elite and appeared on CBS' Survivor: David vs. Goliath in 2018. 

It is unknown when Morrison will make his return to WWE television.
