Report: Jungle Boy Offered Contract By AEW

Another free agent could be nearing a deal with a major company.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Jungle Boy, son of actor Luke Perry, has been offered a contract from All Elite Wrestling. Wrestling News World reports that he has signed a deal with AEW but Meltzer calls the report "premature." Meltzer goes on to say, "the signing could take place any day now" but that news of the contract offer by AEW may lead to offers from other companies.

As we've seen over the last month, companies are looking to lock up any free agent possible with WWE, ROH, NJPW, MLW, IMPACT and AEW making competitive offers for Independent talent.

Jungle Boy is scheduled to compete against Brody King at PWG's Hand of Doom event on Jan. 18. Meltzer reports that California-based promotion APW is planning a feud with Jungle Boy against Bryan Alvarez. Cody Rhodes was reportedly impressed with Jungle Boy after seeing him at APW events, including the APW Cow Palace Royale in May 2017.

Jungle Boy appeared at Bar Wrestling's The Best City I've Ever Been To event on Jan. 16, losing to Ray Rosas. The event made headlines as it was invaded by All Elite Wrestling.
