The news of one's first ever pregnancy is a major one and the Miz and Maryse wanted to share that news with everybody on RAW, even if it meant keeping quiet about for a while.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the two of them have known about the pregnancy for a bit and wanted to announce the news on RAW. According to those same reports, only a handful of people knew about the news ahead of and the locker room, as well as most WWE staff, found out about the announcement during the MizTV segment on RAW where Maryse's pregnancy was first revealed.
WWE decided to use the announcement as a way to run an angle between Miz and Enzo Amore, who crashed the announcement midway through Miz's speech. The angle saw Miz call out Enzo on being not liked in the locker room, seemingly confirming the reports that Enzo has heat backstage and was kicked out of a WWE tour bus during a European tour earlier this year.
The Miz is currently in his seventh reign as the Intercontinental Champion and has held the title since winning it from Dean Ambrose at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view earlier this year. With the RAW-exclusive pay-per-view No Mercy coming up in less than two weeks, there is still no word on if the Miz is defending his title at the pay-per-view. The Miz recently defended his title against Jeff Hardy on RAW.
