Paige could be returning to a WWE ring in the near future.
On Tuesday, the former Divas Champion posted a tweet noting she is due for X-rays on her surgically repaired neck:
According to PW Insider, Paige could be cleared to return to the ring depending on the results of those X-rays. She had surgery in October.
Paige has not wrestled since the June 27, 2016, episode of Raw, when she and Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte and Dana Brooke in a tag match. However, she has remained in the news on a regular basis during her hiatus from in-ring action. Paige had two violations of the WWE wellness policy, one on top of another, and then was diagnosed as needing neck surgery -- something that, according to reports, WWE doctors disputed was not necessary. Meanwhile, Paige's boyfriend Alberto Del Rio left WWE after his own violation of the wellness policy. That relationship reportedly entered the crosshairs of WWE management, with one report that they were told to split, and the couple being sent to different shows during the draft that marked the revival of the brand split last summer. The couple became engaged last fall when Paige proposed in the middle of the ring at an event in Puerto Rico, to the chagrin of at least one immediate family member. El Patron is now one of the headliners for Impact Wrestling and currently holds the GFW Title there.
Paige was back in the news this spring, when personal video and images of her of a compromising nature were leaked online.
The Rock's production company currently is working on a movie about Paige and her family, which contains several other professional wrestlers.
