With the debut of his son Dominik taking place this weekend against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, new details have emerged about the latest contract offer WWE has presented Rey Mysterio.
According to a report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has offered Rey Mysterio a three-year contract. No terms of the offer have been disclosed and it is yet to be confirmed that Rey Mysterio has signed the agreement. A prior report from Dave revealed that AEW matched the contract offer presented by WWE but in spite of this, it is widely believed to be a done deal that Rey Mysterio will be staying with the WWE.
Dominik Mysterio, who will make his WWE in-ring debut at SummerSlam 2020 against Seth Rollins, also weighs heavily on the mind of Rey Mysterio when deciding the fate of his career.
“One of the main reasons is to be able to prepare my son to eventually step in the ring one day,” Mysterio told WrestleZone in 2019. “I want to have the opportunity to share the ring with him before I at least make an announcement to retire. I think that’s probably the last check on my bucket list, to be able to step in the ring with my son and be next to him when he’s feeling what I’m feeling for the last thirty years.”
Fightful will continue to monitor the story and report any and all updates.
