Ricky Starks reportedly asked for his AEW release.
On January 22, Ibou of WrestlePurists chatted about the current situation surrounding Ricky Starks and AEW, reporting that Starks has asked for his AEW release in the past. Ibou also reported that Tony Khan won't grant him the release, meaning that the former AEW World Tag Team Champion will have to wait out the rest of his deal with the company.
The report from Ibou also reported that a lot of things led to situation, most of which will never be reported. Furthermore, Ibou stated that Starks plans to stay relevant by working independent dates.
Starks last wrestled for AEW on the March 30, 2024 edition of AEW Collision, teaming with Big Bill in a loss to Top Flight. In recent months, Starks has returned to the independent scene, competing for Glory Pro and House Of Glory.
