WWE is pulling out all the stops for the 50-man Royal Rumble.
Earlier this month, WWE announced a 50-man Royal Rumble match in Saudi Arabia which is being called "The Greatest Royal Rumble." The event will take place on April 27th and in partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority. The Saudi Arabian government brought WWE in as part of a 10-year social and economic reform program which is called Vision 2030.
WWE CEO Vince McMahon explained why WWE wanted to be involved when he made the trip to Saudi Arabia to promote the event and finalize the deal.
"The Greatest Royal Rumble will be a spectacle of historic proportions. Our partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority reflects a long-term commitment to present WWE’s world-class entertainment to a global audience on a grander scale than ever before,” said McMahon.
WWE already announced the following wrestlers for the event: John Cena, Triple H, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, The New Day, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
According to PWInsider, WWE will also be bringing The Undertaker to take part in the event but it is unclear if that means he will be in a match, the Royal Rumble match, or only appearing.
The event is also reportedly being broadcasted on WWE Network.
Fightful Wrestling will have results and coverage of the event on April 27th.
