Luke Harper is not getting the answer he is searching for.
On Apr. 16, Luke Harper publicly requested his release from WWE in a post on social media. While the public request has worked in the past (Tye Dillinger), Harper doesn't appear to be getting what he wants. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Vince McMahon told Harper in writing that he will not release him. According to the report, Harper was slated to work a program with Sami Zayn after WrestleMania, but the idea was scrapped and Vince reportedly "doesn't get" Harper because he can't do a southern accent. Harper was not assigned a brand during the recent Superstar Shake-Up, which led to Harper requesting his release.
Harper's contract was reportedly set to expire this November, but WWE added six months to his deal to due injury time missed.
In the latest update, Meltzer reports that Harper was told to take up his issues with Triple H but that Triple H has ignored the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion.
Harper last wrestled on Apr. 9, defeating EC3, accompanied by Drake Maverick, in a dark match on SmackDown. McMahon reportedly thought the match was bad and hated the manager spots, further souring him on Harper.
Harper has his release request pinned to the top of his Twitter account but has remained quiet on social media outside of his typical "It's (day of the week), you know what that means."
