WWE is looking to finally bring The Rock back to SmackDown 1000.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that the company is trying to get him to appear on the landmark show. This report echos a report by Fightful's own Sean Ross Sapp in July.
SmackDown 1000 takes place in Washington, DC on Oct. 16. The show was named after The Rock's catchphrase and referenced as "The Rock's show" in the early years. The Rock is currently in London filming the Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw.
The Rock last appeared on WWE television at WrestleMania 32. He was at Raw in Feb. 2017 to film Fighting with My Family. He appeared in front of the live audience after the show, but was not on television.
Already confirmed for SmackDown 1000 is the return of Batista and Evolution reuniting.
