Report: Zack Sabre Jr. Inks A New Deal With NJPW

The SPLX sponsored athlete will continue to make his mark in NJPW.

Coming off of an impressive month of March with winning the New Japan Cup, and although falling short taking the IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada to his limit, Zack Sabre Jr. looks to continue his success in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Sabre Jr. recently lost the EVOLVE Championship to Matt Riddle at the 'EVOLVE 102' show but things have immediately picked back up for the submission specialist as Dave Meltzer stated on the latest installment of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Sabre Jr. has agreed to a new deal with NJPW.

Meltzer added that Sabre Jr. will be on a Japan-based contract. The 'Suzuki Gun' member has competed all over the world earning himself the PWG World Championship, capturing numerous titles all over the United Kingdom, and also competed in the inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

As noted, Sabre Jr. took on Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at NJPW's 'Sakura Genesis' event. Head over to Fightful's PBP of 'Sakura Genesis' to catch up on what else transpired during the show.
