AEW Dynamite (11/8/23) Results: MJF Defends AEW World Title vs. Daniel Garcia, Sting Competes, More

AEW hosted its latest episode of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

This week's episode features multiple Championship matches as Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF, defends the AEW World Title against Daniel Garcia and Samoa Joe defends the Ring of Honor World television championship against Keith Lee. Sting will also be in action as he teams with Darby Allin against The Outrunners.

Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega will also be in attendance, addressing their Eight-Man Street Fight against the Don Callis Family next week.

AEW Dynamite (11/8/23) Results

* AEW World Championship: MJF (c) def. Daniel Garcia

- A video package promoted Mark Briscoe's match against Jay White from Mark Briscoe's perspective.

* Darby Allin & Sting def. The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum)

- Tony Schiavone interviewed Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida. Toni Storm proclaims to be the center of attention. Shida promises to retain her title in LA. Shida and Storm signed a contract for their AEW Full Gear title match.

* Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) def. Penta El Zero Miedo (w/ Alex Abrahantes)

- After the match, Hangman Page came out and attacked Swerve with a chair. He also attacked security with a chair. Then he gave Swerve the Deadeye off the stage through the table.

- Backstage, Jay White taunts MJF, saying he has always been better than him. White claims to be truly elite and he intends to demonstrate it tonight.

- A vignette shows the match next week between Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Paul Wight, and Kota Ibushi vs. Don Callis Family is sponsored by the new Like A Dragon video game

- Renee Paquette interviews Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. They're interrupted by the Young Bucks who want to ask Kenny why he's not focusing his time on teaming with them instead. Everybody bickers back and forth and a tag team match is made for AEW Full Gear where if Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega beat The Young Bucks, they will have their Tag Team Championship opportunity. However, if Matt and Nick Jackson win, Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho are done teaming.

* ROH World TV Championship: Samoa Joe (c) def. Keith Lee

- After Samoa Joe defeated Keith Lee he decided to vacate the Ring of Honor TV Championship.

- Backstage, Orange Cassidy said it doesn't matter that he's currently the International Champion, he needs to be Jon Moxley to actually feel like the champion.

* The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn) def. The Bollywood Boyz (Gurv Sihra & Harv Sihra)

- The Gunns say MJF is an embarrassment as a champion. He claims that the only friends MJF has left are his fans. They vow to take his ROH Tag Team Titles at AEW Full Gear. Samoa Joe approaches MJF backstage. Max walks away.

- Jon Moxley says in a promo that he must set an example for Wheeler Yuta, much as Orange Cassidy must set a good example for HOOK. MOX says it's gang rules between the BCC and anyone Orange Cassidy wants to team with. Wheeler Yuta calls out HOOK.

- Wardlow reflects on his path to this point in a vignette and blames MJF for squandering his potential. He claims that MJF's reign is coming to an end when he least expects it.

* Julia Hart def. Red Velvet

- Post-match, Hart attacks Velvet. Skye Blue, Kris Statlander, and Willow Nightingale come to ringside. There's a tense moment from Statlander, Hart, and Blue as Willow checks on Velvet

- RJ City announces Mariah May is now in AEW. May seems to be a huge fan of Toni Storm.

* Full Gear AEW World Title Shot At Stake: Jay White def. Mark Briscoe

- MJF comes up on Bullet Club Gold from behind and assaults them. White manages to flee. MJF takes a microphone and tells Jay that his playtime is coming to an end. He claims White will have to face the genuine champion in the ring. According to MJF, White will have to kill him in order to beat him. He claims to be fighting for Adam Cole and his admirers. MJF asks White if the Bang Bang Gang's leader will pull the trigger at AEW Full Gear. The lights go out. Backstage, The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn are attacked by The Devil's minions. Bowens is thrown through a window. On the screen, the Devil appears.MJF dashes to the backstage. Samoa Joe greets him and says he's got no friends left.
