AEW Dynamite 3/25/20 Results: AAA Mega Championship Is Defended & Chris Jericho Confronts Matt Hardy

Kevin Nash Provides Update On His Recovery Following Surgery For Torn Bicep Injury

(Note: Throughout the night, members of the AEW roster were shown backstage betting on the matches.)

- Kenny Omega & Cody join the broadcast team as the show starts, Tony Schiavone goes over the card for tonight’s event.

Cody vs. Jimmy Havoc

The match begins with Havoc getting Cody in a headlock, Cody gets free and he drops Havoc with a shoulder tackle. Havoc then catches Cody in a roll up for a one count, Havoc and Cody exchange some leg sweeps and pin attempts. Havoc then drops Cody with an arm drag before working over his arm, Cody gets free and he exchanges more pin attempts with Havoc. Havoc shakes Cody’s hand before attacking him with some strikes, Havoc looks for the Acid Rainmaker and Cody counters by landing a Cody Cutter. Cody quickly gets Havoc in a figure four leg lock and Havoc gets free after poking Cody in the eyes, Cody then sends a charging Havoc out of the ring. Cody follows up on that by nailing Havoc with a suicide dive, Cody then grabs Havoc and he throws him into the barricade a few times. Cody gets Havoc back in the ring and Havoc quickly exits to go to the stage, Havoc attacks Cody and he smashes his face on the announce table. Havoc puts a headset on while nailing Cody with more strikes, Cody gets back into the ring and he nails Havoc with an uppercut.

Havoc recovers and he sends a charging Cody into the corner with multiple Japanese arm drags, Havoc keeps Cody down while stomping away on his arm. Cody recovers and he back body drops a charging Havoc out of the ring, Cody then drops Havoc midsection first on the top rope. Cody heads backstage and he returns to clothesline Havoc back into the ring, Cody then hits Havoc with a suplex slam. Cody looks for a Disaster Kick and Havoc counters by catching him in an arm bar, Cody eventually gets to the ropes to break the hold. Cody looks for a Cross Rhodes and Havoc attacks his injured arm, Havoc catches Cody in another arm bar and Cody gets to the ropes. Havoc then hits Cody with a short arm clothesline for a near fall, Havoc corners Cody while landing some strikes. Cody gets free and he crotches Havoc on the top turnbuckle, Cody meets him on the top rope to land a super reverse suplex. Cody then hits Havoc with a series of Cross Rhodes for a three count.

Winner: Cody

After the match, Jake Roberts appears on the big screen and he says Lance Archer has been waiting to compete in AEW. Roberts talks about Archer's success in Japan and how the AEW roster was afraid of him, Roberts says he wants Archer to have one chance to face Cody.

- Cody returns to the announce booth and he talks about with Jake Roberts just said, Cody says Lance Archer has no body of work in AEW and he can debut on the next AEW Dynamite.

- A video airs from Darby Allin and he talks about his upcoming match with Kip Sabian, while the video also shows Allin wearing masks of various members from The Inner Circle before lighting them all on fire.

Kip Sabian w/Penelope Ford vs. Darby Allin

The match begins with Allin getting Sabian in a headlock, Sabian gets free and Allin drops him with a shoulder tackle. Allin gets Sabian in another headlock and Sabian gets free before getting rolled up for a near fall, Sabian leaves the ring and he attacks Allin when he returns. Sabian gets Allin in a headlock and Allin gets free before eating a shoulder tackle, Allin recovers and he nails Sabian with a springboard arm drag. Sabian leaves the ring again and Allin follows him out there, Allin charges at Sabian and he crashes into the barricade after Ford gets Sabian out of the way. Sabian grabs Allin and he sends him back first into the ringside edge as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Ford working over Allin while Sabian distracts the referee. Sabian gets Allin back in the ring and Allin escapes his grasp to land a few strikes, Alin then nails Sabian with a shotgun drop kick. Allin then hits a cornered Sabian with a running back elbow strike, Allin then nails Sabian with a stunner for a near fall.

Sabian fights back and he corners Allin before landing shoulder thrusts, Sabian leaves the ring and he stretches Allin on the ring post. Allin fights back and he looks for a suicide dive before Ford gets in the way to prevent it, Allin then hits Sabian with a suicide dive on the second attempt. Allin gets Sabian back in the ring and Ford distracts him again, Sabian then hits Allin with a Disaster Kick before landing an elevated neck breaker for a near fall. Allin fights back and Sabian nails him with a pop up knee strike followed by a right, Allin recovers and he trips up Sabian before catching him in The Last Supper for a three count.

Winner: Darby Allin

- A Jake Hager video package airs.

Jake Hager vs. Chico Adams

The match begins with Hager cornering Adams before sending him shoulder first into the ring post a few times, Hager then nails Adams with a Vader Bomb. Adams fights back and he nails Hager with a few strikes, Hager recovers and he nails Adams with a uranage before applying an arm triangle choke to put Adams out cold.

Winner: Jake Hager

After the match, AEW World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley comes to the ring and he nails Jake Hager with a Paradigm Shift. Hager recovers and he gets Moxley in an ankle lock, Moxley sends Hager out of the ring to get free and the brawl ends.

- Jon Moxley is found backstage and he says that he told Jake Hager to check his blindspot, Moxley says he has been cleared for action and he is out for blood. Moxley says Hager won’t be walking away when everything comes to a head, because Hager will get carted out on a stretcher.

- Highlights are shown of Brodie Lee’s AEW debut.

- A video package airs showing how Brodie Lee treats the other members of the Dark Order, Lee says they are the new lions of AEW and they will prey on the weak.

QT Marshall vs. Brodie Lee

The match begins with Lee nailing Marshall with a boot to the face just as the bell sounds, Lee knocks Marshall out of the ring and he follows him out there. Lee sends Marshall into the barricade and ringside edge, Lee nails Marshall with a few strikes before getting him back in the ring. Lee then nails Marshall with a slingshot swanton bomb, Lee also nails a cornered Marshall with several running back elbow strikes followed by a head and arm suplex. Lee then nails Marshall with a suplex followed by a sliding forearm strike, Marshall fights back and he nails Lee with a few enziguris. Marshall leaps off the top rope and Lee avoids him before landing a bossman slam, Lee then hits Marshall with a discus lariat for a three count.

Winner: Brodie Lee

After the match, a Dark Order follower drops a mask on QT Marshall.

- Highlights are shown of The Inner Circle defeating The Elite to gain the advantage at Blood & Guts, followed by the AEW debut of Matt Hardy.

- Highlights are shown of Nick Jackson’s attack from two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite.

- Vanguard 1 provides an update on Nick Jackson, showing Jackson working out in his garage at home.

AAA Mega Championship
Kenny Omega (c) vs. Sammy Guevara

The match begins with Guevara backing Omega into the ropes before scoring a takedown on him, Omega gets up and he works on the arm of Guevara. Omega scores a takedown on Guevara and he slaps his head a few times, Guevara trips up Omega before applying a front face lock. Omega gets free and he takes Guevara down before eating an arm drag, Guevara then knocks Omega out of the ring after landing a drop kick. Omega returns and Guevara rakes his eyes a few times, Guevara then uses a basement drop kick to knock Omega back out of the ring. Guevara follows Omega out of the ring before throwing him shoulder first into the ring post, Guevara also throws Omega into the barricade. Guevara and Omega get into a striking exchange on the arena floor, Omega throws Guevara over the barricade and Guevara lands on his feet before smashing Omega’s arm into the barricade. Guevara then kisses a Brandi Rhodes picture as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Guevara sending Omega back out of the ring.

Guevara follows him out there before smashing his arm onto the barricade, Guevara starts talking to Brandi Rhodes and Omega attacks him. Rhodes eventually slaps Guevara before Omega lands a suplex on the arena floor, Omega then throws Guevara into the ring steps. Omega gets Guevara back in the ring before landing a top rope high cross body for a near fall, Omega attacks a cornered Guevara with a few strikes. Omega misses a charge in the corner and Guevara catches him in an arm bar, Guevara releases the hold before stomping away on Omega. Guevara leaves the ring to smash Omega’s arm on the ringside edge, Guevara returns to the ring and he stomps away on Omega’s injured arm. Guevara goes for a standing moonsault and Omega gets out of the way, Omega gets up and he attacks Guevara with some chops. Omega then nails Guevara with a headbutt before Guevara bites his injured hand, Guevara then hits Omega with a pop up kick for a near fall. Guevara sits on Omega’s arm while manipulating his wrist, Guevara then hits Omega with an elbow drop before applying a scarf hold.

Guevara releases the hold before nailing a cornered Omega with a few strikes as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see a striking exchange between Guevara and Omega. Omega then knocks Guevara into the corner after landing a big boot, Omega follows up by attacking Guevara with axe handle smashes. Guevara fights back and Omega drops him with a discus axe handle smash for a near fall, Omega then hits Guevara with a drop kick to the knee followed by a Kitaro Crusher for a near fall. Omega looks for a snap dragon suplex and Guevara gets free before tripping up Omega and landing a double stomp, Guevara then hits Omega with a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Omega recovers and he sends Guevara to the ring apron before eating an enziguri, Guevara then hits Omega with a springboard cutter and Omega leaves the ring. Guevara gets Omega back in the ring and Omega nails him with a power bomb afterwards, Omega follows up by nailing Guevara with a V Trigger. Omega goes for a sit out power bomb and Guevara escapes to land a one man Spanish fly for a near fall, Guevara goes to the top rope and he misses a shooting star press attempt.

Omega gets up and he nails Guevara with another V Trigger, Guevara recovers and he bites the injured hand of Omega. Omega gets angry and he cracks Guevara with another V Trigger, Omega misses the next V Trigger and snap dragon suplex. Guevara hits Omega with a head kick and knee strike, Omega fights back to hit Guevara with a V Trigger and Jay Driller for a near fall. Omega follows up by nailing Guevara with another V Trigger and a One Winged Angel for a three count.

Winner: Kenny Omega, still the AAA Mega Champion

- Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring and he grabs a camera so the cameraman can sing his theme song, Jericho gets in the ring and he talks about the AEW debut on Matt Hardy. Jericho says he will give Hardy a chance to join The Inner Circle, Vanguard 1 appears and Jericho calls him a piece of trash before asking it to join The Inner Circle. Vanguard 1 leaves as Jericho continues insulting it, Hardy appears in the bleachers and he quickly disappears before reappearing at another section of the arena. This happens multiple times until Hardy appears at ringside, Hardy gets in the ring and he says Jericho knew he would come. Hardy says he is magic and Jericho tells him that AEW Dynamite is his show and the company was built on his back, Jericho says Hardy should align himself with The Inner Circle. Hardy says he assisted The Elite because The Bucks Of Youth resurrected Broken Matt Hardy, Hardy says he knows about what The Inner Circle has done in AEW.

Hardy says AEW is about freedom and he cannot allow The Inner Circle to ruin that, Jericho talks about all the careers he made in AEW. Jericho gives Hardy another chance to join The Inner Circle and Hardy says he is Damascus now and Damascus is 3,000 years old, Hardy and Jericho talk about how many times they have both changed over the years. Jericho talks about how Hardy has lived in the shadows throughout his wrestling career, Hardy says his brilliance is shining brighter than ever. Hardy and Jericho go back and forth until Hardy says his essences are everywhere in the venue, Jericho keeps telling Hardy that there are no fans in the arena and Hardy says that Jericho cannot see them. Jericho attacks Hardy and Hardy drops him with a right, Sammy Guevara hits the ring to attack Hardy until Kenny Omega and Cody make the save. Hardy makes flames shoot out through the stage as the show ends.
