AEW Dynamite (7/31/24) Results: Will Ospreay Competes, Hangman Page vs. Darby Allin, Bryan Danielson Speaks, More

On July 31, 2024, All Elite Wrestling hosted a new episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.

This week's episode features Hangman Page taking on Darby Allin. Also, Will Ospreay will do battle with Lance Archer. Fans will also hear from stars such as Mercedes Mone and Bryan Danielson as the fallout from AEW Blood & Guts impacts the road to Wembley Stadium and AEW All In London.

Live Coverage

- The show kicked off with a verbal confrontation between Will Ospreay and Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Ospreay discussed the history of the AEW International Title and said Max didn't deserve the belt. Max introduces Lance Archer to set up the next match.

* Will Ospreay def. Lance Archer

- After the match, MJF jumped Ospreay, but he was saved by Kyle Fletcher, who came down with Don Callis. Fletcher then cut a passionate promo about how even though Osprey isn't with the Don Callis family anymore, he would always have Will's back because they're like brothers. He then turned his attention to Max and said Max doesn't care about America. He spoke about being a child and dreaming of moving to America. He talked about how America gave him his dream girl. A match was set up between the two for next week. Max promised to break Kyle's neck and leave him in a pool of his own blood.

- A Swerve Strickland vignette aired.

- A recap of what happened between Minoru Suzuki and Chris Jericho last week is shown. They cut to the backstage area, where the Learning Tree is speaking to Alex Marvez. Big Bill gives Chris Jericho a cake celebrating 102 days with the FTW Title. Jericho says Bryan Keith is going to smash Katsuyori Shibata's face. Big Bill gives the cake to Marvez. Keith tells Marvez he will eat the cake if he respects Chris Jericho.

* CMLL World Women's Championship Eliminator: Kris Statlander def. Willow Nightingale

- Stokely Hathaway gave Statlander a chain, which she used to nail Nightingale with a Lariat. After the match, Statlander attacked Nightingale with a chair and beat up the security guards trying to come out to save Willow.

- Bryan Danielson comes out to address the crowd. He talks about promising his family that he would be wrapping up his career as a full-time guy. He promises to give all of his mind, body, and soul at AEW All In. He's interrupted by Swerve Strickland. Strickland says that he has continuously done what Bryan has been unable to do. He says that when he's done with Danielson, he might not even be able to walk and promises that he definitely will walk out as Champion. This prompts Danielson to up the ante of the Wembley Stadium match and put his career on the line. They shake hands, and Strickland tells Danielson to make sure to keep that promise to his family.

- Bryan Danielson is confronted by Jeff Jarrett, which sets up a match for Dynamite next week.

* Roderick Strong, The Beast Mortos, & RUSH def. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, & Tomohiro Ishii)

- Mortos pinned Briscoe off of an Awful Waffle.

- The Acclaimed's Anthony Bowens and Max Caster challenge FTR's Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood to a match on AEW Saturday Collision.

- Mariah May spoke briefly with Renee Pquette. She said she loved Toni Storm and that Storm gave her everything, but she always said the business would eat her up, and it was just her time to eat.

- Toni Storm cuts a promo on the stage about having loved Mariah and how they say you should find what you love and let it kill you.

* Kamille (w/ Mercedes Mone) def. Brittany Jade

- Mercedes Mone cut a promo after the match, welcoming Kamille to Mone Corporation and discussing Britt Baker. Mone says the EVPs (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) suspended Baker for what she did at Comic-Con when she attacked Mercedes.

* Darby Allin def. Hangman Page

- It was a highly competitive match that involved Darby taking too much punishment. As he went up for the Coffin Drop, Hangman caught him in a rear naked choke that reversed into a near fall. Darby went for the Buckshot Lariat but ate a Lariat from Hangman. Hangman got a near fall with a Last Ride Powerbomb. Then he went for the Dead Eye. He nailed the move and then hit it again. Hangman went for the Buckshot Lariat, but Darby crumbles. Hangman pulls Darby to his feet; Darby ducks a Spinning Lariat and gets Hangman into a pinning combination for three. Darby then flipped off Hangman from the rampway as Hangman flipped out.
