AEW hosted its latest episode of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, live from the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

This week features the finals of the Grand Slam Tournament as Roderick Strong meets Samoa Joe to determine who will challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship next week in Queens. Also, Big Bill battles Jon Moxley for the AEW International Title, Adam Page takes on Brian Cage, and more.

AEW Dynamite (9/13/23) Results

* AEW International Championship: Jon Moxley (c) def. Big Bill

- Bryan Danielson came out to neutralize the interference of Ricky Starks. Moxley got the victory with a triangle choke. Claudio comes down to strengthen the odds for the BCC in a post-match fight.

- Roderick Strong is interviewed about his match tonight by Renee Paquette. Adam Cole interrupts and wants Roddy to reconsider this match with Samoa Joe.

- Don Callis announces that Takeshita will next target Kota Ibushi. He says that Takeshita will henceforth be known as The Alpha and says Kenny will watch the destruction of his living, breathing heart like the cuck that he is.

- Alex Marvez interviews Bryan Danielson, and he challenges Starks & Big Bill to meet him and Claudio this Saturday on Collision. Alex tries to ask Moxley & Claudio about their championship matches next week. Rey Fenix comes into the frame with hostility and says he will take the title from Jon Moxley next week. During that chaos, as security separates MOX & Fenix, Eddie Kingston enters the frame and stares down Claudio.

- Back from break, Renee Paquette is interviewing HOOK. Orange Cassidy cuts off the interview. Orange Cassidy says HOOK shouldn't be mad because he has a championship to defend. He tells Renee that he's still so very tired.

* Grand Slam Women's Title Four Way Eliminator Bout: Toni Storm def. Dr. Britt Baker, DMD, Nyla Rose, and Hikaru Shida.

- Renee Paquette interviews Saraya. Ruby Soho is back to dark brown hair. Saraya says that last year at this time, Toni Storm was the Women's Champion, but now she is, and she's lost everything to her, and next week Toni Storm will lose the match to her as well.

- Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara talk about their match next week. Jericho reflected on wanting to get Sammy Guevara signed back in 2018 after watching him at NWA 70. Guevara says he needs to beat Jericho to become one of the top stars in the company. Both men agree that they will give it all they've got.

- Footage from last week focuses on MJF caring for his injured neck. He cuts a promo on Roddy Strong, continuing to insist that he Shake It Off like the bland bitch he is. Max promises to choke out Joe if they wrestle and then does a wonderful interpretation of Scott Steiner Math to make everyone's interest in this potential MJF vs. Samoa Joe match drastic go up.

* 'Hangman' Adam Page def. Brian Cage

- Page shifts his focus to Swerve Strickland in a post-match promo. Swerve Strickland to a match at WrestleDream. Cage strikes Page from behind, and the Young Bucks save the day. They Superkick a dancing Prince Nana.

- Daniel Garcia mentions in an interview that his dance is becoming viral and his career is rising. Don Callis approaches him, apparently to recruit Garcia by buttering him up. Garcia dances and goes away without saying anything.

- On the September 15, 2023, episode of AEW Rampage, Jade Cargill will battle for the TBS Championship against current champion Kris Statlander.

* Darby Allin & Nick Wayne def. Matt Menard & Angelo Parker

- Christian Cage and Luchasaurus watch the match from the announce table. Christian Cage challenges Darby and Sting to meet him and Luchasaurus next week.

* AEW Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament Finals: Samoa Joe def. Roderick Strong

- Samoa Joe promises to take everything away from Maxwell next week. Roderick Strong initially refuses the neck brace but sees Adam Cole coming down the ramp and immediately falls down, screaming for Adam and holding on to his neck. Adam is wondering what's going on as a stretcher is brought out, and The Kingdom insists that he has hurt his neck. Adam continues trying to be a good friend when he gets choked out by Samoa Joe from behind, who then poses over him and reminds Maxwell that he will take everything away from him.
