WWE Raw Results For 12/17.2018: WWE Intercontinental Title Match, A McMahon Family Announcement, 8 Women Battle For A Title Shot & 4 Tag Teams Do The Same

NJPW Ranbo Announced For NJPW Wrestle Kingdom, KOPW Title Officially Retired

- WWE Chairman Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring to start the show, McMahon says he knows that everybody wants to know what has been going on with Raw lately. McMahon says the shows success has been due to the ability to change with the times, McMahon then brings out Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. WWE COO Triple H also makes his way to the ring, Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon also makes his way to the ring. Stephanie says they are all out here tonight because they haven’t listened to their audience and superstars in recent times, HHH says the days of absentee management are over and all four of them will take over Raw and Smackdown Live. HHH says are going to get something new and fresh, including new superstars and new match ups as well.

Baron Corbin comes out to the stage and he has a microphone in hand, Corbin says he is excited for a fresh start. Corbin says he is excited for the McMahon Family running WWE Raw, Corbin said what happened to him at WWE TLC wasn’t fair and he wants to talk about it. Corbin says not all the fans feel negatively about him as the Sacramento fans do, the McMahon Family takes turns asking the fans to stop jeering Corbin. Corbin said he tried to do his best as the fans continue giving him the business, Corbin said all he tried to do was motivate the WWE stars. HHH says that he knows that Corbin wants to be reconsidered for the job as Raw GM, Corbin wants them to name him the permanent Raw GM and the McMahon Family votes him down.

HHH says that Corbin may need another chance and Corbin agrees with them, HHH says he has to beat Kurt Angle right now to become the Raw GM. Stephanie also says that Heath Slater is the special guest referee. 

If Corbin Wins, He Becomes The Raw GM
Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin

The match begins with Angle nailing Corbin with a few strikes, Angle corners Corbin and he nails him with a plethora of strikes. Corbin misses a charge and Angle nails him with a German suplex as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Corbin working over a downed Angle. HHH comes out and says the match is now a handicapped match, with Bobby Roode, Chad Gable and Apollo Crews being Angle’s partners. The new partners jump Corbin and throw him back into the ring, Angle then hits Corbin with a series of German suplexes. Gable tags in and he lands his own German suplex on Corbin, Roode tags in and he nails Corbin with a clothesline. Crews tags in and lands a few strikes on Corbin, Corbin tries retreating through the crowd and he gets jumped again and thrown into the ring post.

The referee turns his back so Corbin can get illegally quadruple teamed by everybody, Shane comes out and says the match is now a No DQ Match. Everybody grabs steel chairs as Slater attacks Corbin, everybody then attacks Corbin with multiple chair shots. Roode and Gable then hit Corbin with their finisher, Crews also nails Corbin with a standing shooting star press. Angle then hits Corbin with an Angle Slam for a three count.

Winners: Kurt Angle, Apollo Crews, Bobby Roode & Chad Gable

After the match, a table is brought into the ring and Kurt Angle puts Baron Corbin through it with an Angle Slam.

Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler

The match begins with Ziggler backing Balor into the ropes before getting him in a headlock, Balor gets free and he catches Ziggler with a few arm drags. Balor drops Ziggler again before kicking him in the back, Balor knocks Ziggler out of the ring with a drop kick as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Balor rolling through a sunset flip to hit Ziggler with a drop kick, Balor injures his leg during the drop kick and still manages to nail Ziggler with a few strikes. Balor trips up Ziggler before nailing him with a double stomp, Ziggler shocks Balor with a roll up for a near fall. Balor counters a fame asser from Ziggler by landing a falling elbow drop for a near fall, Balor then hits Ziggler with a sling blade. Balor goes for a shotgun drop kick and Ziggler counters with a jump DDT for a near fall, Balor recovers and he kicks a charging Ziggler in the face.

Balor goes to the top rope and Ziggler trips him up before throwing him into the ring post, Ziggler then hits Balor with a Zig Zag for a near fall. Drew McIntyre comes out and Ziggler exits the ring to go after him, Balor then appears and he takes out McIntyre with a suicide dive. Ziggler hits Balor with a fame asser in the ring for another near fall, Ziggler sets up for a super kick and Balor hits him with a sling blade. McIntyre interferes again and he attacks Balor to cause a DQ.

Winner: Finn Balor, by DQ

After the match, Drew McIntyre hits Dolph Ziggler with a Glasgow Kiss followed by a Claymore Kick. McIntyre goes out of the ring to hit Finn Balor with a Claymore Kick.

- WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose is shown backstage.

- WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring, Ambrose demands that everybody show him respect. Ambrose says that he predicted everything that would happen in his match at WWE TLC, Ambrose says he doesn’t need everybody’s respect because he has the WWE Intercontinental Title. Ambrose says that he’ll take everything away from Seth Rollins when its all over between them, Ambrose says that Rollins should come to the ring to say that he was right about everything. Ambrose then demands that Rollins come out and even issues an open challenge to him, Ambrose issues an open challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Title right now and Tyler Breeze comes out.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match
Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Tyler Breeze

The match begins with Breeze nailing Ambrose with a few strikes, Breeze corners Ambrose after landing a few flying forearm strikes. Breeze uses a clothesline to knock Ambrose out of the ring as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Ambrose stomping away on a downed Breeze. Ambrose then holds Breeze down while pulling back on his head, Ambrose releases the hold and he drops Breeze with a back elbow strike for a near fall. Ambrose again keeps Breeze down while applying a chin lock, Breeze eventually gets free and he nails Ambrose with an enzaguri. Breeze follows that up by hitting Ambrose with a hurricarana for a near fall, Ambrose misses a charge in the corner and Breeze rolls him up for a near fall.

Breeze then hits Ambrose with a Beauty Shot before going to the top rope, Breeze hits Ambrose with a top rope high cross body for a near fall. Breeze then hits Ambrose with a super kick for another near fall, Ambrose hits Breeze with Dirty Deeds for a three count.

Winner: Dean Ambrose, still the WWE Intercontinental Champion

After the match, Dean Ambrose trash talks Seth Rollins on the microphone when Rollins’ music plays, Rollins appears as one of the SWAT team members and he attacks Rollins. Rollins attacks the rest of the SWAT team as Ambrose escapes.

- Charly Caruso interviews Shane McMahon, who says a lot of new faces are coming to both brands while current superstars will also get opportunities. Drake Maverick and AOP approach McMahon backstage, Maverick wants AOP to get their mandatory rematch and McMahon says no because he feels that Baron Corbin handed them the titles. McMahon says AOP will faces the B-Team, The Revival and The Lucha House Party for a future tag team title shot.

- A video package airs showing some of the new superstars coming to the WWE in the near future, including Lars Sullivan, Lacey Evans, Nikki Cross, EC3 and Heavy Machinery.

- Lio Rush & Bobby Lashley are in the ring and they are going to do an Elias-like performance, Rush says that the greatest music Elias ever heard was when Lashley hit him with the guitar that Lashley has with him now. Rush demands that everybody be quiet as Lashley does some poses, Elias appears behind Lashley and he nails him with a guitar.

- The Lucha House Party are shown backstage.

- A video package airs highlighting the WWE career of Sami Zayn before announcing that he is returning soon.

Raw Tag Team Titles #1 Contenders Match
AOP (Rezar & Akam) w/Drake Maverick vs. The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) vs. The B-Team (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas) vs. The Lucha House Party (Kalisto & Lince Dorado) w/Gran Metalik

The match begins with a chant off between The B-Team and Lucha House Party, The Lucha House party double teams Axel until Dawson tags in. Kalisto attacks Dawson and Dawson quickly gets the upper hand, Dawson traps Kalisto in the ropes while landing a few strikes. Dawson then hits Kalisto with a suplex followed by an elbow drop, Wilder tags in and Kalisto takes out The Revival with a double DDT. Dorado tags in as The Lucha House Party double teams The Revival for a near fall, Rezar tags in and AOP double teams Dorado as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Wilder holding Dorado in a Guerrero Special, Axel tags in as Dorado knocks Wilder out of the ring. Dorado drops Axel as Kalisto and Dallas get tagged into the match, Kalisto takes out Dallas with a series of dives.

Axel interferes and Kalisto nails him with a tornado DDT, Dallas gets up and Kalisto attacks him with a series of kicks. Dawson tags in and he throws Kalisto out of the ring, Dallas nails Dawson with a kick to the face followed by a forearm strike. Dallas drops Dawson for a near fall, Wilder interferes and Kalisto nails him with a tornado DDT from out of nowhere. Everybody in the match hits the ring and they all take each other out, Dawson and Dallas eventually clear the ring together. Dallas catches Dawson with a few roll ups for a few near falls, Wilder tags in and The Revival hit Dallas with a Shatter Machine for a three count.

Winners: The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder)

- Charly Caruso interviews Seth Rollins, who says losing the WWE Intercontinental Title at WWE TLC was a disaster and he acknowledges the anger from the crowd last night towards the match. Rollins says he needs to right the ship and eliminate Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin shows up and he blames Rollins for his downfall as potential full time Raw GM. Rollins gets angry and he drops Corbin with a right.

- Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey makes her way to the ring, Rousey said that she delivered on all of her promises last night at WWE TLC against Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Rousey says she came tonight to define what a real champion is, Rousey says a real champion represents the limits of human potential in every way. Rousey says that she is here tonight to start a new tradition and that’s to defend her title after a pay-per-view, Rousey issues an open challenge and its answered by nobody because Stephanie McMahon leads all the women down to the ringside area. McMahon says all the women on raw deserve a shot at the champion, McMahon says that there is going to be an eight woman gauntlet match tonight and the winner will get a title shot tonight.

Raw Women’s Title #1 Contenders Gauntlet Match
Alicia Fox vs. Bayley

The match begins with Bayley rolling up Fox for a near fall, Bayley starts wrenching away on the arm of Fox. Bayley rolls up Fox again and Fox retreats to the ropes, Fox recovers and she attacks Bayley with a series of strikes. Fox traps Bayley in the corner and she kicks away at her, Fox takes Bayley down with a snap mare for a near fall. Fox continues holding Bayley down while applying a chin lock, Fox misses a scissors kick and Bayley lands a back suplex for a near fall as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Fox stomping on a downed Bayley, Fox traps Bayley in the corner while landing some more strikes. Bayley avoids a charging Fox before rolling her up for a near fall, Fox recovers and she chokes Bayley on the middle rope.

Bayley fights back and she nails Fox with some strikes before getting dropped, Fox then drops Bayley with a hard Irish whip into the corner for a near fall. Bayley drops Fox face first on the top turnbuckle before injuring her own knee after a jump, Fox kicks Bayley in the face afterwards. Bayley shocks Fox with a roll up for a three count.

Winner: Bayley

Bayley vs. Dana Brooke

The match starts with Brooke hitting Bayley with an enzaguri and handspring elbow strike for a near fall, Brooke stands over Bayley while landing strikes. Brooke applies the body scissors to a downed Bayley, Bayley gets free and Brooke nails her with a chop block to the injured knee. Brooke traps Bayley in the corner while landing some strikes, Bayley falls over due to the injured knee and Brooke gets her in a chin lock. Brooke releases the hold to get a few near falls on Bayley, Brooke traps Bayley in the corner again while attacking the injured knee. Bayley hits Brooke with a Bayley To Belly from out of nowhere for a three count.

Winner: Bayley

Bayley vs. Mickie James

The match is joined in progress and we see James holding Bayley in a chin lock, Bayley fights back and James nails her with a neck breaker for a near fall. James drags Bayley to the ropes before choking her on the middle rope, James goes for a charge in the corner and Bayley gets out of the way. James misses another charge and Bayley rolls her up for a near fall, James then nails Bayley with a flapjack. James goes to the top rope and she hits Bayley with a Thesz Press for a near fall, Bayley gets up and James kicks her in the face for a near fall. James goes for the Mick DDT and Bayley counters with a back suplex, James recovers and she kicks Bayley out of the ring. Bayley blocks a slide from James to hit her with a knee strike, Bayley goes to the top rope and falls off as her knee gives out.

Bayley goes for a cross body block and manages to hurt her knee anyway, Bayley goes back to the top rope and she lands a top rope elbow drop for a near fall. James fights back and Bayley nails her with a stunner, Bayley knocks James to the ring apron and James injures her by dropping her on the top turnbuckle. James hits Bayley with a Mick DDT for a three count.

Winner: Mickie James

Mickie James vs. Ember Moon

The match begins with James immediately nailing Moon with a drop kick, James traps Moon in the corner while choking her. James and Moon have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Moon misses a drop kick and James gets a near fall on her. Moon recovers and hits James with a springboard cross body block for a near fall, James rolls out of the ring and she makes Moon follow her out there. James traps Moon in the ropes before trying to power bomb her on the arena floor, James chooses to just trip her up as we go to a commercial break. We return to see Moon nailing James with a side effect, James and Moon have another striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Moon then drops James with a series of kicks for a near fall, Moon misses a charge in the corner and James rolls her up for a near fall.

James then hits a charging Moon with a flapjack before going to the top rope, James goes for a Thesz Press and Moon counters with a code breaker. Moon hits James with the Eclipse for a three count.

Winner: Ember Moon

Ember Moon vs. Natalya

The match begins with Moon rolling up Natalya for a near fall, Moon then drops Natalya with a super kick for a near fall. Moon holds Natalya down while applying a camel clutch, Natalya gets free and Moon gets her in a modified abdominal stretch. Natalya gets free and Moon kicks her in the face, Moon follows that up by nailing Natalya with a tornado suplex for a near fall. Moon goes to the top rope and Natalya causes her to leap off, Natalya drills Moon with a discus clothesline for a near fall. Natalya sets up for the sharp shooter and Moon rolls her up for a near fall, Natalya shocks Moon with her own roll up for a three count.

Winner: Natalya

Natalya vs. Ruby Riott w/Sarah Logan & Liv Morgan

The match is joined in progress and we see Riott holding Natalya down with a chin lock, Riott transitions to a body scissors against Natalya. Riott goes for the guillotine choke and Natalya gets free before landing a slam, Riott fights backa nd she quickly drops Natalya. Riott then kicks Natalya in the midsection as she tried getting up, Riott corners Natalya while kicking away at her. Natalya recovers and she gets Riott in a roll up before getting dropped again, Riott holds Natalya down while twisting away on her head. Natalya keeps fighting back and Riott continues finding ways to drop her, Natalya fights back again and Riott rolls her up for a near fall. Natalya escapes the clutches of Riott to nail her with a drop kick, Riott goes for another roll up and Natalya lands another drop kick.

Natalya then attacks Riott with some clotheslines and a few suplexes, Natalya goes for a spinning clothesline and Riott counters with an STO. Riott goes to the middle rope before missing a reverse senton, Natalya rolls up Riott for a three count.

Winner: Natalya

Natalya vs. Sasha Banks

The match begins with Banks nailing Natalya with a series of clotheslines, Banks then hits Natalya with a knee strike. Banks traps Natalya in the corner before landing a double knee strike for a near fall, Natalya recovers and nails Banks with some shoulder thrusts. Banks misses a leap from the top rope and Natalya rolls her up for a near fall, Natalya goes for a power bomb and Banks counters with a DDT as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see both competitors down, Natalya gets up and she trips up Banks before landing a basement drop kick. Natalya goes for the sharp shooter and Banks rolls her up for a near fall, Banks finds a way to hit Natalya with another knee strike. Natalya recovers and hits Banks with a discus clothesline for a near fall, Natalya goes for the sharp shooter and Banks escapes by sending Natalya crashing into the corner.

Banks trips up an incoming Natalya and she catches her in a single leg crab, Banks transitions into a Bank Statement and Natalya powers her way free. Natalya then hits Banks with a release German suplex, Banks fights back and she nails Natalya with a few strikes. Banks then hits Natalya with a middle rope double knee strike for a near fall, Banks looks for the Bank Statement again and Natalya escapes to land an inverted power bomb. Natalya locks Banks in the sharp shooter and a tap out follows.

Gauntlet Match Winner: Natalya

After the match, Ronda Rousey comes to the ring and she raises the hand of her future opponent before they embrace.
