Match By Match Recap

David Finlay, Kushida & Jushin “Thunder” Liger vs. Yoshi Tatsu & The Tempura Boyz (Yohei Kamatsu & Sho Tanaka)

The match begins with Finlay going to work on the arm of Tatsu, Finlay and Tatsu go through a few series of reversals. Liger and Kamatsu get the tags from their respective partners, Liger quickly locks Kamatsu in the surfboard stretch. Liger releases the hold to drop Kamatsu with a shoulder tackle, Liger follows that up by propelling Kamatsu out of the ring. Kushida holds Kamatsu as Liger catches him with a baseball slide drop kick, Liger goes for another hold before Tatsu and Tanaka jump him. Liger is then triple teamed by all three members of the opposing team, the Tempura Boyz catch Liger with a flapjack for a near fall. Kamatsu slows things down a little bit by working over the arm of Liger, Tanaka tags in and Liger shoves him into his tag team partner.

Liger then hits Tanaka with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker before nailing Kamatsu with a palm strike, Kushida tags in and he cleans house on the opposing team. Kushida hits Tatsu and Kamatsu with a handspring elbow strike, Kushida then does a suicide dive onto the Tempura Boyz. Kushida throws Kamatsu in the ring and he kicks away at his injured arm, Kushida goes for the Hoverboard Lock and the Tempura Boyz break it to hit Kushida with their finisher for a near fall. Kamatsu then cracks Kushida with a few forearm strikes, Kushida recovers to crack Kamatsu with a pele kick. Kamatsu gets back up and he nails an airborne Kushida with a German suplex, Tatsu nails a tagged in Finlay with a springboard drop kick.

Tatsu follows that up by catching Finlay with a power slam, Tatsu leaps off the top rope and Finlay catches him with a drop kick followed by a few European uppercuts. Tatsu recovers to nail Finaly with an elevated knee strike for a near fall, Finaly counters to pedigree to catch Tatsu with a choke breaker. Finlay then locks Tatsu in the stretch muffler and a tap out follows.

Winners: David Finlay, Kushida & Jushin “Thunder” Liger

IWGP United States Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi-Finals: Kenny Omega vs. Jay Lethal

The match begins with Omega nailing Lethal in the injured ribs before knocking him out of the ring, Omega goes out of the ring before shoving Lethal into the ringside edge and barricade. Omega then hits Lethal with a front suplex onto the ringside edge, Omega throws Lethal into the ring before missing a top rope high cross body. Omega goes for the One Winged Angel and Lethal escapes to nail him with multiple super kicks, Lethal nails Omega with a Lethal Injection and Omega rolls out of the ring. Lethal then hits Omega with a series of suicide dives, Lethal tosses Omega back into the ring before catching him with a top rope elbow drop for a near fall.

Lethal quickly locks a downed Omega in the figure four leg lock, Omega eventually gets to the ropes to break the submission attempt. Lethal then trips up a stumbling Omega by kicking him in the leg, Lethal continues slowing down Omega by catching him with a knee breaker. Lethal focuses on the leg some more by nailing Omega with a dragon screw leg whip, Omega recovers and he nails Lethal with a lung blower. Omega then cracks Lethal with some forearm strikes to the back, Omega also rips the protective tape off the injured ribs of Lethal. Omega then catches Lethal with a series of knee strikes to the injured rib cage, Omega nails Lethal with a few more strikes before locking him in the crossbow submission.

Omega recovers to drop kick Lethal in the leg and then kicking him in the rib cage, Lethal recovers and catches a leaping Omega with a blue thunder bomb. Lethal traps Omega in the ropes before nailing him with an enzaguri, Omega recovers and he crushes Lethal with a snap dragon suplex. Omega follows that up by catching Lethal with a modified back breaker, Omega then catches an incoming Lethal with a few Knee Triggers for a near fall. Lethal looks for another figure four leg lock and Omega rolls him up for a near fall, Omega then hits Lethal with a Doctor Bomb for another near fall. Omega follows that up by catching Lethal with another Knee Trigger, Omega nails Lethal with a One Winged Angel for the three count.

Winner: Kenny Omega

IWGP United States Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi-Finals: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

The match begins with Sabre Jr attacking Ishii with a few European uppercuts, Ishii then drops Sabre Jr with a single strike over and over again. Sabre Jr also attacks Ishii with a headbutt before Ishii drops him with one of his own, Ishii traps Sabre Jr in the corner before attacking him with chops. Ishii also catches Sabre Jr with a few more forearm strikes, Sabre Jr drops Ishii with a kick to the arm and then he applies the modified Rings Of Saturn. Sabre Jr holds Ishii in an omaplata while twisting away at his ankle, Sabre Jr releases the hold to kick away at the injured arm of Ishii. Ishii recovers by dropping Sabre Jr with another headbutt, Ishii then crushes Sabre Jr with a running clothesline followed by a shoulder tackle.

Ishii then places Sabre Jr on the top rope and he follows him up there, Sabre Jr traps Ishii and he briefly locks him in the kimura. Ishii breaks free and he cracks Sabre Jr with a delayed superplex for a near fall, Ishii charges at Sabre Jr and Sabre Jr nails him with a series of kicks. Sabre Jr takes Ishii down with a Northern lights suplex into an arm bar, Ishii gets to the ropes to break the hold. Sabre Jr continues bending the arm of Ishii in many unnatural ways, Ishii breaks free and he nails Sabre Jr with a back drop suplex. Sabre Jr catches Ishii with a roll up after a series of reversals for a near fall, Sabre Jr goes back to kicking away at the arm of Ishii. Ishii gets angry and he drops Sabre Jr with another headbutt, Ishii goes for the sliding lariat and Sabre Jr catches him with a straight arm bar triangle choke.

Ishii eventually makes his way to the ropes so he can break the submission, Sabre Jr again kicks away at the injured arm of Ishii. Ishii gets pissed off and he destroys Sabre Jr with a single forearm strike, Sabre Jr recovers and he locks Ishii in the kimura. Ishii breaks free and Sabre Jr clobbers him with a penalty kick, Ishii recovers to nail Sabre Jr with a lariat followed by a brain buster for the three count.

Winner: Tomohiro Ishii

Titan, Dragon Lee, Volador Jr., Jay White & Juice Robinson vs. Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, Bushi, Evil & Sanada)

The match begins with Volador Jr and Naito going through a series of reversals, Takahashi and Bushi jump Volador Jr from behind. Volador Jr fights back to drop both Bushi and Takahashi outside the ring, Volador Jr catches Bushi and Takahashi with a suicide dive. Volador Jr throws Bushi into the ring before placing a tag to Titan, Titan catches Bushi with a springboard cross body and a few kicks. Sanada interferes by nailing Titan from behind with a drop kick, Bushi takes off his shirt and he chokes Titan with it. A brawl breaks out on the arena floor between just about everybody in the match, Sanada tags in and he ties up Titan followed by Robinson. Sanada then nails a tied up Titan and Robinson with a double drop kick, Naito and Bushi then hit Titan with some double team moves.

Naito stays in the ring as he gets a near fall against Titan, Titan tries fighting back and Naito levels him with an enzaguri. Titan recovers by dropping Naito with a back kick to the head, Robinson gets the tag and he cleans house on the opposition. Robinson then drops Sanada with a Russian leg sweep, Robinson also catches a charging Evil with a spine buster. Robinson then catches Naito and Sanada with cannonballs in the corner, Robinson goes to the top rope and Takahashi trips him up. Naito then hits a downed Robinson with a rope assisted drop kick, Takahashi tags in and Robinson drops him with a leg lariat. Lee tags in and he nails Takahashi with a low drop kick, Takahashi and Lee get into a chopping exchange in the middle of the ring.

Takahashi eventually drops Lee with a wheel barrow suplex, Takahashi also propels a charging Lee into the corner. Evil and White get the tags from their respective partners, White drops a charging Evil with a back elbow strike and a running back elbow strike. Sanada distracts White and that allows Evil to nail him with a side slam, Bushi tags in and he nails White with a missile drop kick. Bushi follows that up by dropping White with a DDT, White gets triple teamed by members of the opposing team. Bushi catches White with a cradle neck breaker for a near fall, another brawl breaks out on the arena floor between the competitors in the match. All the members of each team return to the ring and take turns taking each other other, Titan nails Takahashi with a moonsault on the arena floor.

Lee then cracks Bushi with a super kick into a back breaker, White then hits Bushi with a uranage for the near fall. White cracks Bushi with a flat liner to get the three count.

Winners: Titan, Dragon Lee, Volador Jr., Jay White & Juice Robinson

Michael Elgin & War Machine (Raymond Rowe & Hanson) vs. Bullet Club (Hangman Page, Tama Tonga & Tonga Roa)

The match begins with Page and Elgin having a brief striking exchange, Page then attacks Elgin with a few shoulder tackles and Elgin doesn’t go down. Elgin then drops a charging Page with a uranage in the corner, Rowe and Tama get the tags from their respective partners. G.O.D. and War Machine do some battle in the ring, War Machien toss both members of G.O.D. into each other. Elgin then drops an interfering Page with a delayed verticle suplex, Rowe then slams Hanson onto a downed Page. Hanson then crushes Tama and Roa with a bronco buster in the corner, Hanson then rubs his beard into the face of Tama.

Tama recovers and he nails Hanson with an inverted spinning neck breaker, Roa tags in and he works over Hanson in the corner. Roa picks up Hanson and he nails him with a running power slam, Page tags in and he nails Hanson with a few strikes. Page forces Hanson to the ground by pulling on his beard and then he nails him with a drop kick, Tama tags in and he attacks Hanson with a series of headbutts. Roa tags back in and he drops Hanson with a running clothesline, Hanson clears the ring of the opposition before crushing Roa with his behind. Page and Elgin get the tags from their respective partners, Elgin drops Page and crushes him with a slingshot splash.

Elgin follows that up by nailing Page with a running clothesline in the corner, Tama hits the ring and Elgin sends him back out. Elgin hits Page with a falcon arrow for a near fall after sending Roa out of the ring, Page recovers and he nails Elgin with a super kick. Elgin recovers and he hits Page with a German suplex, Rowe tags in and War Machine hit Page with a modified Doomsday Device for a near fall. War Machine go for Fallout and Roa stops that from happening, G.O.D. then hit Rowe with their finisher from out of nowhere. G.O.D. trap Hanson on the top rope and they follow him up there, Elgin interferes and battles the G.O.D. Tama eventually drops Elgin with an ace crusher, Hanson dives off the top rope and he takes on the G.O.D.

The G.O.D. recover to hit Hanson with an elevated spinning neck breaker, Rowe hits the ring and he clobbers Tama with a knee strike. Page hits the ring and he nails Rowe with his finisher for the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Hangman Page, Tama Tonga & Tonga Roa)

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title Match: The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) (Champions) vs. RPG Vice (Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta)

The match begins with Romero dropping Matt with a shoulder tackle, Matt and Romero go through a series of reversals until Matt mocks him in the sharp shooter for a short time. Nick interferes after Romero slaps Matt, Beretta hits the ring and everybody is missing their moves on everybody else. All four competitors just brawl in the middle of the ring, Romero and Beretta nail the Buck with running clotheslines in the corner. Beretta then propels Nick right into Matt, the Buck recover and they drop RPG Vice with duel super kicks. RPG Vice roll out of the ring and then Nick takes them out with a top rope moonsault, the Bucks then double team Romero in the ring for a near fall.

Nick throws Romero into the corner before cracking him with a running knee strike, Nick goes for a swnaton bomb afterwards and Romero gets his knees up. Nick then super kicks Beretta and that allows Matt to power bomb him on the entrance ramp, Romero is unable to make the tag after Beretta is taken out. Romero goes out of the ring and Nick nails him with a penalty kick, Matt drapes Romero along the ringside edge as Nick nails him with a swanton bomb. Nick gets Romero in the ring and he gets a near fall on him, Nick then mounts and attacks Romero with some punches. Matt tags in and he stomps away on a downed Romero, Matt traps Romero in the corner before assaulting him with some more strikes.

Matt slows things down further by holding Romero in a chin lock, Romero tries fighting back and he eventually sends the Bucks crashing into each other. Romero goes for a tag and Nick rakes his back, the Bucks then clobber Romero with a double super kick. Romero recovers and he drops both Bucks with a double clothesline, Beretta tags in and he immediately attacks Nick with some chops. Beretta then rocks Nick with an enzaguri, Beretta follows that up by going for a tornado DDT and Matt stops that from happening. Beretta then sends a charging Nick out of the ring and then he nails Matt with a tornado DDT, Beretta goes to the top rope and Matt knocks him right off.

Matt gets Beretta on the top rope and Nick nails him with a super kick, Matt then hits Beretta with a buckle bomb as Nick nails him with an enzaguri. Matt locks Beretta in the sharp shooter until Romero breaks it all up, the Bucks then power bomb Romero onto Beretta. The Bucks are setting up for something and Romero takes them both out with a double hurricarana, the Bucks recover and catch Romero with a double super kick. The Bucks then hit Beretta with a More Bang For Your Buck for a near fall, Beretta catches Matt with a roll up from out of nowhere for another near fall. Matt recovers and he quickly locks Beretta in the sharp shooter, Romero then attacks Nick on the arena floor.

Nick gets up and he nails Beretta with a swanton bomb while he was in the sharp shooter, Romero uses a springboard drop kick to break up the sharp shooter. Nick tags in and he immediately looks for the Meltzer Driver on Romero until he escapes, Nick goes to the top rope and Romero shoves Matt into him. RPG Vice hit Matt with an elevated knee strike on the arena floor, Nick recovers and he nails Beretta with a running knee strike. Beretta responds by nailing Nick with a pile driver on the ring apron, Beretta catches Nick with a running knee strike and a Gotch style pile driver for a near fall. Nick fights back until RPG Vice take him out with a double knee strike, Romero then hits Matt with a suicide dive.

RPG Vice then hit Nick with a Strong Zero for another near fall, Matt and Romero get the tags from their respective partners. Matt and Romero exchange strikes in the middle of the ring, Romero catches Matt with a jumping knee strike before eating a super kick, Romero knocks Matt out of the ring and Matt catches him. The Buck hit Romero with a Meltzer Driver on the arena floor, Romero is thrown back in the ring before Matt tags Nick in. Beretta hits the ring and he attacks both of the Bucks with chops, the Bucks then take turns attacks Beretta with super kicks. The Bucks hit Romero with another Meltzer Driver, Nick locks Romero in the sharp shooter and a tap out follows.

Winner: The Young Bucks, still the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions

After the match, Ricochet attacks The Young Bucks and then he challenges them for the IWGP Junior Tag Team Titles with Ryusuke Taguchi as his partner.

Rocky Romero grabs the microphone after Ricochet leaves and he talks about the successes he had with Trent Beretta. Romero then says that it is time for Beretta to move up to the heavyweight division, the two embrace and the end of RPG Vice has apparently just taken place.

Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Will Ospreay) & The Briscoe Brothers (Mark & Jay) vs. Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Cody, Yujiro Takahashi & Marty Scurll)

The match begins with Mark and Scurll going at it until they both stop to taunt each other, Mark then drops Scurll with a single chop. Jay and Cody get the tags from their respective partners, Scurll tags himself back in and then Cody tags himself in. Fale then tags himself in and he tags Cody right back in, Takahashi tags in and then he tags Cody back in. Okada tags in and Cody runs into the crowd, Ospreay tags in now and then Jay tags in, Jay misses a charge into the corner and then Cody crushes him with a power slam. Jay recovers and he drops Cody with a hurricarana, Ospreay tags in and he nails Cody with a series of kicks. Ospreay then drops Cody with a running European uppercut followed by a running drop kick, Ospreay goes to the top rope and Scurll taunts him.

Cody then tosses a distracted Ospreay off of the top rope, Takahashi tags in and he kicks away at the leg of Ospreay. Scurll tags in and he goes to work on the injured leg of Ospreay, Cody tags back in and he kicks away at a downed Ospreay. Fale tags in and he sits on a downed Ospreay to get a near fall, Scurll tags in and Ospreay nails him with a boot to the face. Ospreay looks for the tag and Scurll nails him with a kick to his injured leg, Ospreay recovers and he drops a taunting Scurll with an enzaguri. Jay and Takahashi get the tags from their respective partners, Jay quickly cleans house on the opposing team.

Jay then cracks Takahashi with a drop kick and a neck breaker for a near fall, Takahashi gets angry and he bites the thumb of Jay. Takahashi drops Jay and he nails him with a series of low drop kicks, Jay recovers and he drops Takahashi with a roaring elbow strike. Fale and Okada get tagged in by their respective partners, Okada quickly drops Fale with a flapjack. Okada goes for a slam and he winds up getting it after a short time, Okada goes to the top rope and he immediately leaps off. Fale grabs Okada and he nails him with a Samoan drop followed by a splash for a near fall, Fale goes for the Grenade and he winds up hitting Okada with a clothesline.

Cody tags in and he gets into a striking exchange with Okada, Okada then drops Cody with another flapjack. Ospreay gets the tag and Cody immediately goes to work on him, Ospreay eventually catches Cody with an ace crusher. Scurll hits the ring and he snaps the fingers of Ospreay, Mark hits the ring and he drops Scurll with a clothesline. Everybody from both teams hit the ring to take members of the opposing team out, Cody eventually drops Okada with a Beautiful Disaster. Ospreay hits the ring to take out Cody and Scurll, Ospreay catches Scurll with a suicide dive as Scurll goes out of he ring. Cody nails a leaping Ospreay with a Beautiful Disaster and the Cross Rhodes for the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Cody, Yujiro Takahashi & Marty Scurll)

IWGP Intercontinental Title Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi (Champion) vs. Billy Gunn

The match begins with Gunn dropping Tanahashi with a shoulder tackle, Gunn uses his power advantage to force Tanahashi to a knee. Tanahashi grabs a headlock and he uses it to work over Gunn, Gunn briefly breaks free and Tanahashi takes him back down with another headlock. Gunn breaks free after catching Tanahashi with a back suplex, Gunn follows that up by nailing Tanahashi in his injured arm with the divorce court. Gunn then tosses Tanahashi right out of the ring and onto the arena floor, Gunn then smashes the arm of Tanahashi into the ring post. Gunn then drags Tanahashi to the barricade and he smashes his injured arm on it, Funn then stretches the arm of Tanahashi around the ring post.

Gunn tosses Tanahashi back into the ring and he drops a knee on his injured arm, Gunn follows that up by nailing Tanahashi with a jack hammer for a near fall. Gunn slows things down further by holding Tanahashi in the wrist lock, Gunn then just kicks a downed Tanahashi in the head. Gunn applies a second wrist lock to the injured arm of Tanahashi, Tanahashi fights back and Gunn quickly slows his momentum. Tanahashi fights back again and he drops Gunn with some flying forearm strikes, Tanahashi then hits Gunn with a swanon bomb for a near fall. Tanahashi then cracks Gunn with a few forearm strikes, Gunn recovers and he cracks Tanahashi with a cobra clutch slam for a near fall.

Gunn goes for the Fame Asser and Tanahashi nails him with a drop kick, Tanahashi catches Gunn with a spinning neck breaker. Tanahashi then misses the High Fly Flow as Gunn moves out of the way, Gunn then hits Tanahashi with a Fame Asser for a near fall. Tanahashi recovers to drop Gunn with a Sling Blade and then he nails the High Fly Flow for the three count.

Winner: Hiroshi Tanahashi, still the IWGP Intercontinental Champion

IWGP United States Heavyweight Title Tournament Finals: Kenny Omega vs. Tomohiro Ishii

The match begins with Ishii working a headlock against Omega, Omega and Ishii take turns attacking each other with shoulder tackles. Omega and Ishii follow that up by having a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Ishii drops a charging Omega with a shoulder block. Omega recovers and drops a charging Ishii with a boot to the face, Omega then plants Ishii with a snap mare before kicking him in the back multiple times. Ishii gets back up and Omega rakes his eyes right away, the two battle out of the ring and Ishii chops Omega into the crowd. Ishii follows Omega into the crowd before tossing him into some of the chairs the fans were sitting on, Ishii then attacks Omega with more chops.

Ishii grabs Omega and he throws him into another row of chairs, Ishii tosses Omega over the barricade and back to the ringside area. Omega fights back by getting into a chopping exchange with Ishii, Ishii throws Omega into the barricade. Omega recovers and he suplexes Ishii on the arena floor, Ishii gets back in the ring and he drops a charging Omega with a back elbow strike. Ishii mauls Omega with strikes in the corner before simply choking him with his boot, Ishii drops Omega again before just kicking him right in the back a few times. Omega gets up and he gets into another chopping exchange with Ishii, Ishii eventually chops Omega onto the ring apron.

Omega gets back in the ring and Ishii cracks him with a headbutt, Omega fights back and he nails a charging Ishii with a boot to the face. Ishii recovers and he nails a charging Omega with a power slam for the near fall, Omega fights back by nailing Ishii with chops and a DDT. Omega then hits Ishii with a Finlay Roll and a moonsault for a near fall, Omega picks up Ishii to nail him with some more chops. Omega follows that up by catching Ishii with a bulldog that knocks him out of the ring, Omega then nails Ishii with a suicide dive. The Young Bucks are out and they set up a table at ringside, Omega goes to the top rope and he nails Ishii with a missile drop kick to the back of the head.

Omega follows that up by nailing him with a leaping back elbow strike, Omega traps Ishii in the corner before assaulting him with more chops. Ishii fights back and he nails Omega with a forearm strike, Omega slows his momentum by knocking him to the ring apron with a hurricarana. Omega does his best to knock Ishii off the ring apron and through the table, Ishii then drags Omega to the ring apron. The two battle on the ring apron until Omega dragon suplexes them both through the table, Omega gets back in the ring and Ishii barely beats the 20 count as well. Omega then stomps on a still downed Ishii a bunch of times, Omega then cracks Ishii with a series of knee strikes as well.

Ishii fights back until Omega nails him with the Knee Trigger for a near fall, Omega goes for the One Winged Angel and Ishii counters with a DDT. Ishii follows that up by crushing Omega with a lariat, Ishii then catches Omega with a clothesline in the corner before putting him on the top rope. Ishii nails Omega with a superplex from the top rope for a near fall, Omega and Ishii exchange chops in the middle of the ring. Omega nails Ishii with Knee Triggers while eating some headbutts, Ishii levels a charging Omega with a lariat for a near fall. Omega catches Ishii with a brain buster from out of nowhere for a near fall, Ishii eats a suplex before nailing him with a knee strike and a sliding lariat for another near fall.

Omega recovers to hit Ishii with a Knee Trigger, Ishii catches a leaping Omega to nail him with a One Winged Angel for another near fall. Omega trips up Ishii before catching him with another Knee Trigger, Omega and Ishii exchange more strikes in the middle of the ring. Omega eventually drops a swinging Ishii with a palm strike, Omega follows that up by nailing Ishii with a cross legged neck breaker. Omega then nails Ishii with another Knee Trigger and a snap dragon suplex, Omega cracks Ishii with more Knee Triggers. Omega nails the One Winged Angel to get the three count.
