On September 13, 2024, WWE hosted a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown on the USA Network, the first episode in the channel in this new era for the Blue Brand, live from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

The show was headlined by Cody Rhodes defending his WWE Undisputed Title against Solo Sikoa inside a Steel Cage. The full results are listed below.

  • Undisputed WWE Championship - Steel Cage Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa.
  • Andrade El Idolo vs. Carmelo Hayes.
  • A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller) vs. Kevin Owens & TBD.

  • After an introduction from Paul Levesque to the crowd, Michael Cole & Corey Graves welcomed the audience to the broadcast before transitioning into the opening match.
  • Undisputed WWE Championship - Steel Cage Match: Cody Rhodes (c) def. Solo Sikoa via Pinfall (Cross Rhodes).
    • The Bloodline (Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga & Solo Sikoa) tried to attack Rhodes after the match, but Roman Reigns made his SmackDown return to make the save. Reigns called out Jacob Fatu to enter the ring, but Fatu was stopped by Sikoa. Reigns & Rhodes laid out Guerillas of Destiny as Fatu put the Ula Fala on Sikoa.
  • "Michin" Mia Yim def. Piper Niven (w/ Chelsea Green) via Pinfall (Eat Defeat).
    • Chelsea Green & Piper Niven attacked Michin after the match, hitting an Unprettier on Michin through the trash can.
  • Kevin Owens was in the ring for his match when he learned his tag partner was a wrestler named "Ricky" because his partner did not make it; however, the producer spoke to Owens to tell him his partner made it to the building. Owens hit a Stunner on Ricky before his partner was revealed to be Randy Orton.
  • Kevin Owens & Randy Orton def. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller) via Pinfall (RKO).
  • Cathy Kelly interviewed Nick Aldis, who revealed Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu challenged Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns for WWE Bad Blood. Cody Rhodes interrupted and said he was done with The Bloodline and had no intention of signing the contract. Aldis said he would speak with Roman Reigns.
  • WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax cut a promo, where revealed she would defend her title at WWE Bad Blood. Jax said she did not care who would be the challenger, but promised she would annihilate whoever challenged. Bayley interrupted proceedings and demanded a rematch for her title and questioned Jax's friendship with Tiffany Stratton. Stratton interrupted and said Bayley was jealous she had to ask for a shot at the title. After Bayley tried instigating a fight with Jax and Bayley, Naomi interrupted and said it was time she held a title. Jax suggested a match with herself & Stratton against Bayley & Naomi for a title match at WWE Bad Blood, which Bayley & Naomi accepted; however, Jax said that whoever lost would leave SmackDown permanently. Stratton tried to attack Bayley, but Naomi caught her with a Hip Attack.
  • Cathy Kelley spoke with Nick Aldis, who revealed that Roman Reigns would address this situation tonight.
  • Andrade El Idolo def. Carmelo Hayes via Pinfall (Avalanche Swinging Neckbreaker).
    • WWE United States Champion LA Knight appeared on the ramp, where he said Andrade was now the new contender; however, Knight said that it comes in being beaten by "The Mega Star" a week from tonight.
  • Byron Saxton interviewed the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill, but they were interrupted by Tiffany Stratton & Nia Jax, where Jax told them that something would happen to Naomi if she kept getting in her business.
  • Roman Reigns & SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis came to the ring to talk business ahead of WWE Bad Blood. Reigns that despite not having the Undisputed WWE Title or the Ula Fala, it was still his company; however, Cody Rhodes interrupted and said he & Reigns had something to address since WrestleMania. As Rhodes & Reigns had a staredown, The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu) appeared on the ramp. The Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa) tried to attack Reigns & Rhodes, but they got laid out. Reigns signed his contract before Rhodes got the contract signed the contract for Bad Blood to end the broadcast.
