WWE RAW Results (1/17/22): Bobby Lashley Takes On Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch Calls Out Doudrop + More!

Welcome to Fightful.com's live coverage & discussion for Monday Night RAW. We'll be bringing you full, fight-by-fight results of every match on the card.

The show begins and RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch makes her way down to the ring as we see a video package of last week, where Doudrop defeated Bianca Belair and Liv Morgan to secure her shot at Lynch's title in two weeks at the Royal Rumble. Back in the ring Lynch welcomes us to 'the big time'. Lynch says the RAW women's division has never been hotter and like it or not, she's the reason for it. Lynch says the division is so hot that there's stars from the past such as Lita, Mickie James and the Bella Twins, who all are hoping to win the Royal Rumble and challenge the 'Van GOAT' at WrestleMania. Lynch says she's kindly given Doudrop a 'taste at the big-time' and the fans weren't clamoring for Doudrop to get a title match and she's [Lynch] the only reason Doudrop's getting a shot for the title because that's what she does...she makes people better and then beats them. Lynch says she does respect Doudrop's tenacity and she made a name for herself...but actually she didn't make a name for herself, somebody else did and out comes the aforementioned number one contender, Doudrop, who makes her way down to the ring. Doudrop says Becky didn't get her anything, she earned it herself. Doudrop says if that was Becky's plan all along, it was the biggest mistake she's ever made. Becky says she'll make sure Doudrop wins a match tonight, when they face Bianca Belair and Liv Morgan in a tag match. Bianca makes her way down to the ring and says she's the EST. of WWE and tells Doudrop that the only reason she has a title match is because Becky's so scared to give her a rematch, she cost her the number one contender's match last week. Bianca officially enters the Royal Rumble match and tells Becky that her time is coming because of it and she's going to main event WrestleMania...AGAIN and out comes Liv Morgan. Liv also officially enters the Royal Rumble match and says she's going to be the win the match and headline WrestleMania, not Bianca and she'll just be one of the 29 other women she will outlast in two weeks at the Royal Rumble. Doudrop tells Bianca and Liv to Shutup and asks for a referee to start their tag match...which is up next after the break.

REVOLVER Holiday Special Results (12/21): Rhino, AJ Francis, Ace Austin, More In Action

Becky Lynch & Doudrop vs. Bianca Belair & Liv Morgan

Doudrop and Bianca start this one off, Doudrop gets control early, Bianca powers back and lays Doudrop out and an elbow and tags in Liv. Doudrop tags Becky in, Liv hits the champ with a cross-body, goes for the cover but Becky kicks-out at two. Doudrop tosses Bianca out of the ring then lays out both Liv and Becky with a splash then realizes she's not the legal woman, drags Becky's motionless body to the corner, tags herself in and pins Liv for the 1-2-3 and the win.

Winners - Becky Lynch & Doudrop

After the match, Doudrop hits Becky with a splash from the middle rope and celebrates in her face as we cut backstage where we see 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke and Reggie, who are with Edge and Beth Phoenix. Edge says Reggie's done things he's never seen anyone do before but he still doesn't stand a chance in hell defeating Omos but wished him luck. Beth tells Dana that she's proud of how far she's come and Dana leaves with Reggie. Edge and Beth continue down the hall and see United States Champion Damian Priest, who says he has this side he can't control sometimes and that side has an 'edge'...no pun intended. Damian asks Edge for some advice for the Royal Rumble since he has so much experience, including winning two-times. Edge says cardio comes into play but no matter what, keep doing you because he's doing incredible. Beth receives a note and says it's from Maryse, who wants to meet her face-to-face in the ring, alone. Edge says he knows Beth can handle her own but he doesn't trust Maryse or The Mix and says he's coming with her, as the pair of Hall of Famers leave. Kevin Owens approaches Priest, Owens says he's looking forward to having a good, clean match with Damian, who says he doesn't trust Kevin but Owens says he has an announcement to make so he's heading down to the ring, where he'll host The K.O. Show, after the break.

Back from the beak and Kevin Owens is in the ring, getting set to host The Kevin Owens show with the number one contender to Roman Reigns' Universal Championship and Owens' 'best friend' Seth Rollins. Owens says he'd say he's happy to be in Tulsa, Oklahoma but that would be a 'vile' lie. Owens introduces Seth Rollins, who makes his way to the ring while we see a video package of the segment between he and Reigns from this past Friday's edition of SmackDown. Rollins and Owens kick the chairs away and decide to stand for the show. Owens thanks Rollins for accepting the invitation to the show and says he admires Rollins. Owens says it's not only the suits that he admires but also his courage. Owens says it took guts to go to Friday Night SmackDown and berate Roman Reigns to make him realize that while Roman may be The Head of The Table, Rollins set that table. Rollins says Owens hit the nail on the head and truth is, Roman's rattled, nervous and scared of him. Rollins says Reigns is taking the low road and taking shots at his family and Jimmy and Jey Uso couldn't get the job done when they tried to attack him and at the Royal Rumble, taking the Universal Championship away from Reigns is going to be like taking candy from a baby and he'll take the title back to 'where it belongs', Monday Night RAW. Owens says RAW would have the best champion in the company in that case, not Brock Lesnar or anyone else. Rollins says they mine as well get rid of Brock Lesnar and maybe later tonight, they'll get rid of Bobby Lashley during he [Rollins] match with Lashley, later tonight. Owens says he has a major announcement and that announcement is that he's declaring himself as an official participant in the Royal Rumble match. Owens says once he wins the Rumble and Rollins defeats Reigns, they'll give the fans what they want, Seth Freakin' Rollins versus Kevin Freakin' Owens in the main event of WrestleMania. United States Champion Damian Priest interrupts and makes his way down to the ring. Rollins says Damian's going to get his ass kicked if he comes any closer. Damian tells Rollins to shut his mouth and calls them delusional idiots. Damian says nobody believes he can beat Roman at the Royal Rumble and Owens is a liar, so there's no way anyone believes he'll win the Royal Rumble match. Damian says he just spoke to Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville and he and Kevin's match tonight, starts right now and we head to a commercial break.

Damian Priest vs. Kevin Owens (with Seth Rollins)

Damian comes out firing with heavy offense early and often. Owens asks Damian to think twice about elbowing him, Damian nails him with it anyway and Owens slides out of the ring to recover, Damian comes flying around the stairs and meets Owens' foot, who super-kicks him right in the face, Owens jumps on the apron and drills him with a senton off the apron and we head to another break. Back from the break and Damian is in control, lights Owens up with a bevy of kicks and lays the former Universal Champion out with a super-kick. Damian tosses Owens into the corner, hits him with a splash, Owens reverses momentum, Damian comes right back with an inverted suplex, goes for the cover but Owens lifts the shoulder at two. Damian gets Owens on the top turnbuckle, follows him up there, looks for the super-plex, Owens blocks, head-butts Damian off the top, nails him with the flying back senton, goes for the cover but the champion kicks out at two-and-half. Both men struggle to their feet, Owens looks for the stunner, Damian kicks Owens away, Owens looks for the stunner again, Damian spins out, bounces off the ropes, Owens catches him and plants him with a pop-up power-bomb, goes for the cover but Damian kicks out at two yet again. Damian comes back on the offensive, rocks Owens with a spinning-kick, nails him with the a massive choke-slam, goes for the cover but Owens is the one who just beats the count this time as he kicks-out at two-and-a-half. Owens tells the referee his leg is injured, the ref calls for the medical team, Owens hits Damian with a stunner out of nowhere and gets the three-count for the win.

Winner - Kevin Owens

We then see a video package of Alpha Academy's RAW Tag Team Championship win over RK-Bro on last week's show and out comes the new champions, Otis and Chad Gable who are set to take part in their graduation ceremony after the break. Back from the break, commentary hyped up tonight's match between Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley before we see a video package of Nikki A.S.H attacking Rhea Ripley on last week's show. Backstage, Sarah Schreiber is with Nikki, who says she's better off on her own. Sarah asks Nikki why she attacked Rhea, last week, Nikki says Sarah needs to get her facts straight and Rhea forced that attack on herself. Nikki says sometimes heroes have to do things that regular people don't understand and after tonight, Rhea will realize that she needs a superhero, whether she likes it or not. Back in the ring, Otis and Gable are about to 'graduate'. Gable says he's actually graduated with his Master's Degree and a 4.0 GPA, the crowd starts to boo, Gable says it's gross to boo education but it makes sense since the odds of anyone in Oklahoma having a Master's Degree or even graduating high school are slim-to-none. Gable says tonight is about celebration, celebrating not only an institution but an individual. Gable says he could've gone on and on talking about himself, 'Master' Gable and list off his 'long' list of accomplishments but tonight isn't about him, it's about a man who's overcome all the odds, a 'tree trunk' of a man, his number one guy, Otis. Gable says last week, Otis applied the 'master's' lessons and passed his final exam and decimated the 'morons' RK-Bro and claimed their rightful spot as RAW Tag Team Champions. Gable says it's his esteemed honor to present Otis, who has 'no last name that we know of'. Gable presents Otis with the Alpha Academy diploma and plants a kiss on Otis' cheek. Otis says Gable helped him realize his full potential and now everyone can expect pure carnage if they try to take their titles from them. Riddle interrupts and makes his way to the ring, donning a cap and gown. Riddle says they look 'pretty, pretty tight' and says that he has a 'special' speech. Riddle says he wrote this speech, this morning at the breakfast buffet. Riddle says he and Randy Orton were just a couple of 'young stallions' running free as the RAW Tag Team Champions. Riddle says Randy told him that life comes at you fast, Gable tells him to shutup and says the people of Oklahoma can't afford to lose anymore brain cells so he should leave. Riddle says he's proud of Otis and Gable, Gable says Riddle's ruined enough tonight and he knows that Riddle's out here for a rematch but Riddle probably doesn't even know how to define a rematch. Riddle says a rematch is when you light something up twice...like a candle but a rematch actually does sound like a 'pretty sick' idea. Gable says it's no wonder Orton left him high-and-dry but they'll give him a rematch but only if he proves himself mentally in an Alpha Academy Academic Challenge and it'll be Gable and Otis against Riddle and Orton in a battle of the wits. Riddle says maybe he and Otis can run in giant hamster wheels instead and while on the subject, Gable kind of looks like one. Otis takes off his cap and gown, chases Riddle on the ramp, Orton appears behind Gable and plants him with an RKO and Riddle drills Otis in the back of the head with a flying knee. Riddle puts Otis' cap and gown on Orton, who says they accept their academic challenge. Orton's music hits, we see a replay of the brawl and commentary hyped up tonight's return of Finn Balor.

Backstage, we see Vince McMahon, who's approached by Austin Theory. Vince is watching footage of Balor's win over Theory a number of weeks ago, Theory says while he may of lost to Balor, he attacked him and 'nearly ended his career' after the match and it's basically like a half victory. Vince says there's no such thing as a half victory and tonight, he better win the match against Balor and then attack him again...and if he doesn't, he'll have him [Theory] dragged back to his office, pull out an 'equalizer' and break every body in his body and when he's done with him, he'll be nothing but blood, bones and broken teeth...and then he'll take a selfie with him and send it to his mother, Balor makes his way to the ring and we head to a commercial break before the match.

Winner - Austin Theory

After the match, Theory obeys Vince McMahon's orders and drills Balor with a GTS that puts Balor out cold, Theory then takes a selfie with Balor's motionless body and heads out.

Backstage, Rhea Ripley's with Sarah Schreiber, who asks Rhea what she though about Nikki A.S.H.'s earlier comments about their tag team split. Rhea says she never wanted to have their friendship ruined but it appears as if Nikki made up her mind. Rhea says she doesn't forgive easily and asks what kind of hero attacks their friend and if Nikki thinks she [Rhea] is the villain in this friendship, then she's even more delusional than she originally though. Rhea says she's going to remind Nikki of EXACTLY who Rhea Ripley is and heads to the ring.

Rhea Ripley vs. Nikki A.S.H.

Nikki makes her away to the ring and before the bell, WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Queen Zelina Vega and Carmella make their way to the ring and say they're the ones who started the break-up, it wasn't Rhea or Nikki. Zelina calls Nikki a 'low class loser' and says Rhea doesn't have the guts to be champion all on her own. Nikki attacks Rhea from behind, the referee doesn't ring the bell, Nikki tosses Rhea out of the ring and drills her with a double front-kick to the face before tossing her into the steel steps and Nikki leaves the ring-side area and it doesn't appear as if this match will happen.

We then see a video package of Omos attacking Reggie on last week's show ahead of their match tonight. We cut to the live feed and 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke is giving Reggie a pep-talk backstage. Reggie says he can't beat Omos, Dana tells him to stop doubting himself and says he's the most capable man she knows and he needs to just stay away from Omos and make him work as they head to the ring. The WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix makes her way to the ring being flanked by her husband and fellow WWE Hall of Famer Edge. Maryse says their match at the Royal Rumble has to be canceled. Maryse says nobody wants it, including the fans, who start reigning down boos. Maryse says it doesn't matter what they think and tells Beth that they come from the same generation but the fans continue to pour down jeers. Maryse says that she and Beth made the women's division what it is today and the women main event WrestleMania because of women like she and Beth. Maryse says they should be on the same team and not fighting, they should be best friends and their little girls at home should go on play dates and their families should have dinners together. Beth tells Maryse to shutup and says she's not buying it. Beth says Maryse clearly took acting lessons from Miz and says their tag match the Rumble isn't off. Beth says she's not missing the opportunity to tag with her husband for the first-time in WWE history and she's definitely not missing the opportunity to Glam Slam her through the mat. Beth throws her mic down and runs in the ring, Miz tries to attack Edge out of nowhere but Edge takes him out, Maryse drills Beth in the back of her head with her purse and Maryse scurried down the ramp with Miz, who reveals that Maryse had a brick in her purse.
