Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage of tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
-We open the show with The Miz for Miz TV where Miz says that he was having a bad day and that he let his emotions get the best of him before apologizing to Kofi for punching him last week. Miz talks about failing to defeat Bray Wyatt before bringing up his guest tonight, the returning John Morrison before John comes out to the ring. Miz says that they are the greatest tag team of the 21st century before showing a video package for John and their time as a team. John talks about the special WWE was going to film for him before saying that he had to be here for one of his best friends in Miz. John says that he's disappointed in the fans and that Miz has worked harder than anyone else in the company before lambasting the fans until they're interrupted by New Day.
Kofi and E then exchange barbs with John and Miz, setting up a match between Kofi and Miz as we go to commercial.
Kofi Kingston vs The Miz
Kofi dodges Miz's kicks and takes him down several times before Miz comes back with a double ax handle to the back and goes for a figure four that Kofi counters into a pin attempt for two. Miz hits Kofi with a kitchen sink and drops him with a boot for two before locking in a headlock that Kofi gets out of, but is dropped with a shoulder block as soon as he gets up. Kofi dropkicks Miz and sends him out of the ring before teasing a suicide dive and clotheslines Miz over the top rope once he's back in the ring. Kofi then hits a suicide dive before Miz shoves Kofi into Big-E and John gets between them as we go to commercial.
Miz counters Trouble in Paradise before Kofi hits a diving cross body for two and Miz follows up with a snap DDT for two. They counter each other until Kofi rolls Miz up for a two count before hitting SOS for a near fall and Miz hits running knees in the corner before Kofi catches him with an enzuigiri. Miz counters a dive and locks in a figure four before Kofi gets to the ropes for the break before rolling out of the ring and onto the floor. Miz then tosses Kofi back into the ring before John takes out E at ringside before Miz hits Kofi with the Skull Crushing Finale for the pin and the win.
Winner: The Miz defeats Kofi Kingston via pinfall with the Skull Crushing Finale.
-We get a segment of the Firefly Funhouse where tells the fireflies that he loves them and says that The Fiend hates Daniel Bryan. Bray then says that The Fiend wants to hurt Daniel as we go to commercial.
-We come back to Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose backstage where Sonya says that she's got Mandy's back tonight before she leaves and Mandy is distracted by a gift presumably left by Otis. We then get a song by Elias where he sings a song about the Royal Rumble and how he's going to win it and defeat Brock for the WWE Championship.
-Mandy then walks up to Otis and Tucker backstage and thanks Otis for the cake, but says that she doesn't want it and that she can have it and that she has a match up next as we go to commercial.
Mandy Rose w/Sonya Deville vs Alexa Bliss w/Nikki Cross
Mandy shoves Alexa until Alexa slaps her and stomps her in the corner before hitting a drop toe hold and Mandy drives her into the corner. Sonya gets on the apron and distracts Alexa before dropping Nikki and Mandy hits Alexa from behind for two. Alexa gets free of a rear chin lock and counters a Tiger driver before they drop each other, Alexa coming back with clotheslines and a scoop slam. Alexa hits insult to injury before Otis comes out and Mandy rolls Alex up off of the distraction for the pin and the win.
Winner: Mandy Rose defeats Alexa Bliss via pinfall.
Lacey Evans vs Sasha Banks
Before the match Sasha's music hits and Bayley shows up on the big screen and says that Sasha isn't there tonight before Lacey says that she's ready to face anyone. Lacey then challenges Bayley to a title match, but Bayley isn't having it and says that she doesn't have to listen to her before Lacey goes to the back. We follow Lacey who's attacked by Bayley from behind before Lacey nearly knocks her out and Bayley ducks the Women's Right and scurries away as an official stops her from pursuing the champion.
Winner: Match Never Started
-We get a recap of last week's main event in which The Fiend interrupted and put Daniel through the time keeper's area before applying the mandible claw. We then go to Daniel backstage where he says that The Fiend wants everyone to think that he can't be hurt or beat before saying that he can and he will for the Universal Championship before one of Bray's puppets appears on the screen and tries to tell Daniel something before Bray stops him and says that snitches get stitches before saying to let him in.
Braun Strowman vs Shinsuke Nakamura w/Sami Zayn & Cesaro
Shinsuke tries to drop Braun with strikes only to be dropped with a boot before dropping him with a knee and smashing his face into the top turnbuckle. Sami drags Shinsuke out of the ring to avoid being splashed in the corner before Cesaro hits Braun from behind and Shinsuke superkicks him into the time keeper's area as we go to commercial.
We return to Shinsuke in control, hitting a diving knee strike to the side of the head for two before locking in a rear chin lock. Braun catches Shinsuke coming off of the top and drops him with a lariat before hitting a running splash in the corner for two. Shinsuke counters a running powerslam and hits a running knee for two before kneeing Braun in the ribs and Braun hits a spinebuster. Cesaro gets into the ring with a chair before he drops it and Braun knocks him off of the apron before Shinsuke misses hitting Braun with his belt. Braun then grabs Shinsuke and hits a running powerslam for the pin and the win.
Winner: Braun Strowman defeats Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall with a running powerslam.
-After the match Braun holds the Intercontinental Championship up before Sami snatches it away from him and flees before we get a video package for Sheamus as we go to commercial.
-We return to Daniel Bryan opening a gift with the brutalized puppet in it before Roman Reigns comes out to the ring before we get the Progressive MatchFlo of the week. Roman talks about 2019 and everything he's gone through and the return of his family to even the odds against Corbin, Ziggler and Roode. The Usos talk about joining Friday night Smackdown on FOX before Corbin and Ziggler come out and says that Roman is afraid to face him and is going to hide in the Royal Rumble match. Roman says that he has no problem beating him twice in one night before the Usos hit a stereo suicide dive as we go to commercial.
-We return to the announcement that New Day will face The Miz and John Morrison next week.
The Usos vs Baron Corbin & Dolph Ziggler
Jey and Dolph kick things off before the Usos double up on Dolph who crawls to the corner and tags in Corbin. Jey rocks Corbin with a right hand before Corbin clotheslines him for a two count and Dolph gets the tag and dropkicks Jey for two. Dolph locks in a body scissors before Jey gets to his feet and Corbin and Ziggler start with frequent tags and offense, isolating Jey until he gets the tag to Jimmy. Jimmy drops Corbin with an enzuigiri before he goes up top and The Revival come out and distract him before Roman comes back and takes out The Revival as we go to commercial.
We return to The Usos in control until Corbin sends Jimmy into Roman when he counters a suicide dive before Jey hits a diving splash. Corbin then grabs Jey and sends him into the ring post before Roman spears Corbin at ringside for the disqualification.
Winner: Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler defeat The Usos via disqualification when Roman Reigns attacks Corbin.
-After the match Robert Roode returns and Corbin, Ziggler and Roode take out Reigns and the Usos before Roode hits a spinebuster onto the announce table and Dolph hits a jumping elbow drop through the table as we go off the air.
