Rey Mysterio reflects on the few times he got to work with Triple H in the ring.
Rey Mysterio and Triple H are staples of their eras in WWE but they never worked a one-on-one program against each other. They were the anchors of the 2006 Royal Rumble match, being the first two to enter the match and lasting up until the very end. They also were on opposite ends of a 3-on-2 Handicap Match during the March 2006 WWE Saturday Night's Main Event show. On that night, Mysterio teamed with Kurt Angle and Randy Orton against John Cena and Triple H.
During a recent WWE digital exclusive where Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio watch back that match, Rey reflected on barely working with "The Game," commending him for his ability to adapt to the Lucha style.
"If I'm not mistaken, this is like, one of the first couple times that I got it to be in the ring with Triple H," said Mysterio. " You know what's, to me, impressive? Hunter's never worked with me. So, my style is very different, yeah, but for him to adapt -- you [Kurt] were the same way."
Triple H has said in the past that Mysterio is one of the main WWE stars he regrets not being able to work a program with during their prime years.
Rey Mysterio is still going strong at the age of 50, almost two years after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Mysterio recently made a light-hearted comment about when he would hang up his boots. Read his comments here.
