Rey Mysterio Says He Doesn't Want To Keep Wrestling Past 50, But Could Change His Mind

The master of the 619 has revealed when he wants to hang up his boots.

Although Rey Mysterio is well over thirty years into his legendary career, some fans have been curious as to when the 47-year old plans to bring a close to his current run in the wrestling business. With Rey's son Dominic recently becoming a full-time wrestler, those questions about retirement are beginning to become more frequent.

In a new interview with Ariel Helwani, Mysterio revealed that the current plan is for him to wrestle for about three more years; although those plans could change at any time.

“It’s funny because they don’t prep you up now like they do for NFL players. For wrestling, I’ve always heard from others that they just go until they can’t anymore. There’s really no start and end date. You just run through it until you can’t or until you step away to do something else. For me, now that I’m getting closer to my fifties and I see my son wrestling, I tell myself that I wanna go three more years and I don’t wanna go past fifty. But then I remind myself, what if I feel good. Can you still go another year? As of right now, my date has always been to not go over fifty."
